GT3 vs 458

I had a 458, liked it but was a bit boring to me. As previously mentioned, it does many things well, but for a street car I felt like I was driving a new M6 on coilovers. I currently have 2 Scuds, one is twin-turbo, one is a DE track car. I enjoy both, but they both give me that "raw" feeling like the GT3 does. I had a 2010 GT3 RS which I loved and currently have a new 991 GT3. I cannot wait til Porsche figures out the problem so I can take it to the track, it should be very quick. When people asked me which car I liked better on the track, the RS or the Ferrari, I would tell them the Ferrari was much easier to drive fast, but when I drove the RS fast, it made me feel like I accomplished something.. I am looking forward to the new 458 "Scpeciale"...

It looks like the best advice to buy and keep several brands. There are no ultimate cars. Ferrari is after you get it and drive it on a level all buy itself. It's the real deal especially the late model V8 cars. These cars are incredible and no matter what brand loyalty you insist you have sample everything as part of your bucket list.
I have modified 360 spider , gallardo spider, 930 505 slantnose 430hp, Boxster Spyder, 993RS Clubsport clone and these things are all different and I have garage space so they are staying.
Would like a Ferrari 430 16M ........and a Radical SR3 SL for the track and street. Wife tells me I am over bought and no more or else. I found a Tour de France 16M at Steve Harris imports in salt lake city sat in it it's sweet. Will sound like a F1 car when and if I get my hands on it.
Ferrari of San Francisco has a 16m too Scuderia red Kimis championship year and color 450miles
Someone buy these things

All The above 458's look beautiful, and great to see a car doing what its meant (driven) Don't get me wrong italians make beautiful cars. Ive just always been under the impression they have mechanical and wiring issues? maybe that is history, Owners fill us in on ownership of ferrari. How is the reliability on the new ones? also Do they offer reasonable servicing nowadays? and also the quality control compared to the germans? Body panels, Gaps, Paint, Feeling... Etc. I would own A F12 in a heartbeat :reckon: But i would get in too much trouble in that car.
The servicing includes 7 years free maintenance apart from wear-items. And 3 years warranty. And I must say it is refreshing to walk into the dealership or workshop where people take great (personal) care of you, simply because of the smaller number of unique customers they deal with. That's a rare event, here in Dubai...
Body panels and gaps were fine on mine. The paint is not up to Porsche quality, plain and simple. We're got some (empty) roads where we can do very high speeds safely, but the sand particles in the air really abuse the (softer?) Ferrari paint and leaves it a bit sand-paper like if not clear-bra'd. The car feels extremely rigid. Whether this will cause negative side-effects later on, who knows... for now, I'm just enjoying it, a lot!

Beautiful car TomTom. Do you think you'll ever get that beast to a racetrack, or even a dragstrip? Would love to see some 'real world' numbers on a customer-spec car.
Any chance the paint quality would be better if the white was 'Bianco Fuji' since there is an upcharge on the paint? After seeing the pics of yours, I can't decide which white I like better.

I honestly don't know if Bianco Fuji would be better. However, for the up-charge, one can repaint the Bianco Avus car completely, I think... And I wanted the white to be plain, race-car-like, white, without a flash of metallic in there. Like my GT3. And my 1M. Call me boring...

I'm a complete virgin to Ferrari-ownership, having just taken delivery of my Speciale 2 weeks ago, so I cannot speak about my own experience yet. However, friends with recent 458s and F12s have had very limited problems, if any at all.

Funny. Was in a Lambroghini store, next to the Porsche store in Chicago area, as I was investigating Gallardo. Asked the guy what he thought of Porsche. --He looks over at the dealership and goes something like "Ohh yea. those guys like to drive there cars around the track and stuff"
Nice, guy but it sounded hilarious, like those guys are a bunch of idiots, like Lambro's were too cool for that..
He did say the Lambro was more of a Luxury car which made sense..

speciale is indeed, special.
ferrari have done a good job.
i commend them for sticking to their guns and continue to conceive ever more hardcore versions of their standard brothers. the ball is now in porsche's court - let's see what they can come up with......along with solutions to their current issues.

There is no comparison between my 458 Spider Rosso Dino and my AWE Tuned 997.2 700 HP Turbo Cab.
The 458 is to die for - a lot of emotion and a head turner.
The 458 is a garage queen I cannot take it anywhere without being noticed - the Turbo on the other hand gets the attention of car enthusiasts ....but thats about it.
I am getting the GT3 as it will be my daily driver and I can take it to work and is low key..
After owning a 458 coupe and now the Spider I just cannot decide what other car I can get and I am hoping that the GT3 will have the fun factor of a 458. I test drove the 911 Turbo S Coupe but the car is just too plush...
Very anxious to hear from a actual owner of both the cars as I will not be getting my GT3 until end of Q2.
