If conrods need replacing, I am not sure anything Porsche offers will be enough. That is a major engine overhaul done by local dealers.
Everyone on Piston Heads freaked if the Local Dealer Techs have to do major work-- Thats what they are trained for right? I heard they are very good in the US, and the schools cost more then a 4-year college degree.. Probably more satisfying too.. LOL..
I was never expecting any chump change, otherwise I would have got a Vette, or GTR.. HaHa.. Warranty increase would seem fair, as we bought the car to drive, not get little 2k cash bonuses.. or rent a cars.
In the mean time, what the hell is this.. https://www.porschedriving.com/ Looks cool. Maybe that would be good compensation as well. Ha Ha.. --not so greedy.. Better then the 'I want tickets, Helicopter service, and track time at F1 race, and to drive a factory Porsche in Lemans.. or whatever they requesting over there.. .. LOL"..
My thinking is if the issue is serious enough to warrant engine major surgery, Porsche should discount the price of the car to all who took delivery and to those that have been built and not delivered. In addition, they should extend the warranty on the car which would be transferable.
The reduced price should be enough to compensate for inconvenience, loss of use and reduced resale value.
I'm getting bored with this now. Having the car sit in the garage and not drive it is worse than when I was waiting for it. Once driven you cant go back....
Is it possible that PAG is in a tough spot as they don't think they can fix the design flaw permanently and they don't want to be involved in litigation and decide to Issue refunds to current owners in exchange for the cars? Porsche then writes off $140M and ends the GT3 era.
