Maybe they'll just retrofit all the cars with the fire extinguisher option

Yeah I wouldn't give a crap about a few rubles as 'compensation'.

Now if PAG extends even just the powertrain warranty for 2 years, that would be awesome, and underscore their faith in the new powerplant. I'd much rather have that, and it would send the right message to the buying public and help protect resale.

Oh yeah, and free bucket seats for US customers.

^+1. Extended warranty would be one of the top items on my wish list...right after not having my VIN affected. But if I paid for the car already, being compensated for lost time is critical. They lost use of car as well as whatever portion of standard warranty that elapsed.

With this I don't agree (the comp part), especially if you got a loaner. But that's OK, if they offer cash money that's cool and I'd take it. But whether I took delivery of the car or not, I wouldn't care that much about $2k; I just want factory backing that says to prospective buyers that this car is bulletproof.

I hear what you're saying but if the time lost is say, 4-6 weeks? That's real time for some who look to keep cars for 2-3 years.

My car is still en route, so just a delay. So for me, warranty would be my top want.

15% discount on an oil-change and free replacement windshield wipers for the 1st four years. Of course the offer only applies to the original owner!

How much would that add up to assuming 8-10k/year driving?

Extended warranty would be the best response from Porsche to restore faith long term on top of cash compensation for loss of use.

Probably not very much... I'm sure it is purely coincidental that the MSRP for part #9A1.107.203.90 just increased by 15%.
