Good to hear. Allocations are like the ***** Wonka and the chocolate factory's golden ticket chocolate bar as far as I'm concerned. We sometimes forget how fortunate we are.
--I never bought 20 Porsche's so it took me 6 mos to get one, -- I had to get smart and figure out the local dealer was leading me on, just to eventually sell me a Turbo.. So I looked elsewhere before it was too late.
( I heard there was a list of 15+ people at North Scottsdale Porsche.. -- They had a 160k msrp car asking north of 200k.. Not sure what it sold for.. but Ouch)

If you are new to the game (i.e. not having bought 20 Porsche's before) I think you really need to look to the smaller dealers. I lucked into my allocation. A buddy got a call from a smaller dealer that they had an allocation that became available (he bought a 2007 GT3 from them) and he reached out to me. I wasn't planning on getting one, but the opportunity came up and I took it. now 6 months later, after all the stop sale crap, my order is in. I couldn't be more excited and amazed at the same time.

I still can't believe I have an order in on a GT3. My first Porsche is my dream Porsche (short of the 918, which is way, way, way out of my budget...)

Absolutely gorgeous car. I love the black and red contrast.

Did you tint your windows or is that just the time of day? I think Porsche offers window tint to UK buyers, but unfortunately this is not available in the US.

I see you ordered the red instrument dials and the red chrono clock. Would you mind posting a picture that shows both of those in the same shot?
I debated forever whether to order those dials in red and it would be nice to see them in a real photo.

Factory tinted rear three windows (35%) but had the two fronts tinted a little bit darker to 50% than factory 75% as there was too much a contrast.

Sorry took the photos late tonight as wanted to show you guys.
Enjoy

Thank you for the great shots of the red gauges. They really pop!

Any problems reading them in the sun?

Another question. Is there a 75% standard factory window tint on a GT3, without you specially ordering anything?
You mentioned that above. I was not aware of this. Does that apply to all Porsches?

Thanks Guys for comments.

No problem reading dials (not that I have time to look down at them!) specially now that I have windows slightly darker. In Uk our Summer at the moment is hot hot hot so it has been tested well.
The front windows are a minimum 75% from factory as per UK law.

How come when I read this thread there is a gap in posts from Jun 23 to Aug 03? Were there really no posts, or is my computer somehow FU?

Anyway, for what it's worth, I was in Europe during month of July and got to spend 1 day at Spa and 2 days at Nürburgring. When at Spa two separate 991 GT3's were on flat beds with cooling problems.... Not what you want to hear, but that's what I saw.

I was driving my 1993 968 CS M030 that I have parked near the Ring. Four close friends in 3 cars, plenty of Bier and amazing fun for 4 days!

I suspect the GT3s with cooling issues were the result of holed front radiators? It seems unless you pushed for them to replace the fender liners with the new version with protected mesh they weren't always done with the new engine as they were a seperate campaign. Of the dozen or more GT3s including my own now seeing track action on the new engine none have had any temp issues quite the opposite but a couple without the mesh liner have suffered hearing issues after picking up a stone in the radiator....that would be my thoughts in what you saw...

+1

And yes there were no posts for that period of time. I believe because people were getting their cars back and the stop sale was over

Now the wait to get my ordered car built and delivered...
