Stop Sale?

Burning Brakes
While I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for the fall to come and a car (please) ... I saw this! What a cool idea to have! Mount it front or in the rear tow hook receiver above the exhaust. Now that would be fun to hear the Sharkwerks from there!

That's not a 991 GT3, AFAICT. There is no black front spoiler, nor does the black aero trim extend up the front of the fender edge as it does on the GT3. Harder to tell, but the wheel spokes appear to go straight to the rim, not curved on the end like the spokes on the new forged GT3 wheel. Also, I don't see a vent between the leading edge of the hood and the bumper and there are cross bars not mesh in the front air intakes.
Bloody well deconstructed Mike ...also 0Q991...indeed a Carrera with an aerokit.

Please please please tell us what it says. the rivals are twice the price so we wont be embarrassed if its a close second to the Speciale (surley it must be!) I promise!

Bottom line, the Speciale has the reach of the GT3 mill, nearly the insane power of the 650S, throttle response better than both. The precision of the GT3 exposes the 650S by comparison, even though the sheer force of the 650S is so incredible.
Closing quote from the article:
"Take your brain out and the Porsche can shadow the Speciale, mainly because it has much greater traction and the slightly slower steering gives you more confidence in fast corners. Bring price into the equation and it's simply unbeatable. But...the Speciale is just more intense, more involving and it literally makes you whoop with delight. That sunny day in Italy wasn't just new car euphoria gone mad. The Speciale is the real deal."
Sounds like the GT3 is a close second to the Speciale if cost is no object. I'll take that verdict any day!

They were effusive with praise for the Speciale. But yet the GT3 was able to punch higher than it's weight class and had a good showing.
The Speciale was a more visceral experience than even the GT3 and lived up to its name.
Btw, the car was a post engine swap car that they borrowed.

Track Day
I picked up my loaner...2014 Panamera e-Hybrid a few days ago. What can I say? I love it?
That is a complete surprise. I just completed a 100 mile drive over one of our mountain passes. The car is a dream to drive! This will be a nice way to endure the next 70 to 90 days until my GT3 arrives.

Yep, and Apolo1 over on PH said this article could be coming out a few days ago.. Nice.. -- Regardless of price, and what the press says. I think the GT3 is the best car for me at this point in my life.. I can't think of any other car I'd rather own.

My thoughts exactly. Any lesser car, and I'd be constantly wondering what I'm missing. Any better car (and "better" means a multiple of its price in this case), and I would not be comfortable driving it the way I want at a track or leaving it at BART parking lot. I thought hard about replacing it during this stop sale, but the best option I could think of came down to a combo of 3 vehicles - nice weekend sports car, trailer-only track car and a trailer. And that's more involved than I can be at this time in my life.
