Very funny. I think we should make a GT3 one. Mind you, it would never be as good as Hitler!

USELESS UPDATE FROM THE UK:

The following is an email from my dealer. I've had no calls or any kind of communication from Porsche UK or Germany at any time.

Just a quick update on the car. I have been speaking with Porsche UK and they are awaiting further updates from Germany.

At present, your car is being held at the factory and will almost certainly be rectified (if required) there before being transported to us.

I will let you know the latest asap and once again, sorry for the delay.

Regards

It's very quiet in the stop sale thread today - I'm cold and lonely here.

What's left to say?

A month of crickets from Porsche with no end in sight.

Either you keep the faith, stop wining and enjoy your loaner while you hope for some make up money, extra warranty and that the fire issue is the last of the problems, not the beginning of more issues.

That or go to the dealer to drop off the loaner and get your money back.

Ive been told today all GT3 engines will be replaced. Apparently my car is also affected. I dont have any other details other than that the source was reliable.

I wish I could say...

I was told today that my 991 GT3 will be replaced. PAG and PCNA are producing another 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 to replace my 991 GT3, and I'll get a new 991 GT3 RS gratis.

For God's sake man... just trying to have a bit of fun as we all anxiously await the news. We're all in here together. My car's not even built yet. Cheers! And I refuse to stop wining... or beering.

And under no circumstances shall you ignore the break in period a second time ;-) That's certainly some crazy news. It sounds like we are very close to an official announcement and campaign.

Just WOW.

I wonder how long it would take to make 785 replacement engines, ship them worldwide, and have them swapped and tested...

I also gotta believe that built cars take priority over non built.. so in other words, if I were Porsche, I would not build another GT3 until the built cars are fixed. Of course I'm probably oversimplifying in absence of all the data.

My car was supposed to complete on Friday - that seems like a very low probability event. I'd actually feel very guilty for all my stop sale brethren who have cars already delivered if that happened - almost to the point that I'd donate my engine... almost. . I certainly hope this doesn't mean I get Macca's engine, remanufactured and into my car after the tunnel runs, alpine tours and other various shenanigans.

I'm in it for the long haul - no other car speaks to me like this one does, fire risks and all.

I hope they'll sell the " old " engines at a discount. I'm gonna buy one and disassemble it in my backyard, let you guys know what I find...
Maybe I'll use it in my lawnmower...can you imagine revving the lawnmower to 9K!!!

Yes. Not news I wanted to hear either. It appears I may have been an early bird to hear this. I stand by the information as it related to me (my car) directly but was clear it would affect all cars. I still suspect only a limited number of cars may truly be affected but Porsche have had issues identifying which ones and probably have made a call on a global engine swap program to be 100% certain they have eliminated any uncertainties. I dont think we will get any further detail until Europe opens again. I certainly dont think they will re circulate the engines due to time constraints along with the obvious legal issues etc. If anyone goes get my engine be sure to know its a good one and ran faultlessly for 2000 miles. ;-)

Id really love to be wrong here guys as I was seriously betting on them isolating and replacing a small batch of engines rather than a global campaign but I fear there is little chance my information is incorrect at this stage...
