I am curious

The price for the new gt3 varies according to the country you live in.

In Australia my car will cost over $400,000 USD. I'm wondering how many of you would buy one at this price.

In North America they are less then half that.
I do not know what it is like to live down under?

Is a can of Coke $10.00 u.s?

Is everything expensive? Are wages on par?

All the cars are more expensive it used to be the exchange rate which at one stage was $us 0.65 but the price differential remained even after the $A went to $1.05 against $US.

Someone was making a decent profit. The $A is now trading at about $.89 US so I still fell someone is making a pretty decent profit.

Wages are not that much more than US.

I was curious how our US rennies would feel about a gt3 costing $400,000 $US. I think it shows how much we aussies love these cars. We know the price in the US but still buy them at these inflated prices.

I still think the 991 gt3 is so unique in the market place that it;s worth the pain.

Everything is relative, including the purchase price of a GT3. Subject to your personal finances, and desire to own this car, I wouldn't necessarily allow this to deter my decision to proceed, if I were you... If your finances comfortably allow it, and you really want to car, go for it.

Eilig you are so right. I take the attitude of we are not here for very long and I've been very fortunate with the money side of things and i really do like these cars. So what the heck.

They think we are a bunch of fools being taken for a ride or at least that's what I would think, lol....

Whats crazier than paying $300k is then putting them on track with no insurance like high rollers (not through choice, just because track insurance isn't an option here)... Thats when reality hits that I have some screws loose

We will not die wondering what it's like to punt one. Most porsche owners will never know how much fun their cars can be. I find that a bit sad really. I.m not a great driver but anyone can have a bit of fun with these things.

I know someone who bought a cayman and he might as well have bought a corolla. Now that I reckon is an absolute waste of money

Gents, Seriously. You dont have to pay 400K USD for a GT3 in Australia. As Chris well knows I can tell you how you get your car into Australia for well less than 250K AUD. Unfortunately you will struggly to get a GT3 from the factory now in RHD but I have just been offered one of the first 991 GT3RS RHD, if you are serious cash buyers then unless you blokes over there are some well cashed up you cant ignore saving 100K+ AUD then start to think "parralel import"! Its now rife in NZ (check out our version of ebay to see) with tonnes of UK imports coming in monthly.....over to you but I have already put a few of your country folk onto it and as I say you can land a new Porsche in Australia WAY cheap[er than what you guys are paying just has to be a cash purchase....as a guideline I paid well under 215K AUD landed and complied for mine...

I could get an english car over here for 180k when $aud was $1.05 us but I would have to lie about my sister leaving england to come back and live in oz permanently hold the car over there for 12 months it al just looked to hard
