Port Emden entry
Vehicle production completed 1/17 and entered port Emden on 1/21 and its been sitting for 11 days now. it was supposed to exit port 1/31. Is this typical?

I'm in the same boat, pun intended. All the same dates as you and going to San Diego. My sales rep said some times the system is delayed on the updates once on the ship. I hope this is the case. I did see a ship leave port that day stop in South Hampton then is on the way to the Panama Canal now. The ships name was Volans Leader, hopefully our GT3's are on the boat.

If it makes you feel any better, my GT3 sat at the port for a full month before it left, even though two other boats had been there that eventually came to Houston.

Great. They must not be in a rush to collect the check :)

Mine entered port in Emden on 11/26 and didn't leave until 12/9.

Thanks Mike. So there is hope :) The wait is wearing me out.

While I was waiting, silverrules, I tried to be Zen about it and told myself not to wish my life away. But I feel your "pain"... ;)

Yeah a lil over a week at port

My car was completed on Jan. 29th. In appears your cars and the boat are waiting for my car to get there.

mine took 3 weeks before it left the port! killer!!

@Nick -- Mine entered Port Emden on 1/30 and I'm on the West Coast. Likely, we'll be on the same boat?

FWIW, according to my dealer he does not expect to get the car until March 28th which means one of two possibilities for our cars. They could either sit at port for a couple of weeks OR we see are cars much earlier if Porsche opts to ship the cars on the boat presently at dock. We should know in a week. |
My turbo shipped the next day. I quess it is luck of the draw.

Mine originally was scheduled to depart Emden 2/7. My GT3 entered port on 1/21, the departure schedule from Emden then jumped forward to 1/31. I hope my dealer was right on the delayed updates from the shipping yard. If not I'll be looking at Emden on www.marinetraffic.com on 2/7. I think they depart from the southwest side of the port.
There are two ROROs on the southwest side of port now; the Glovis Condor, & the Emden. Also there is the Seine Highway towards the center. Not sure how long it takes to load a RORO. I'll be watching the next few days to see in any leave on the 7th as scheduled. They usually make a stop in the UK before heading to Panama. VOLANS LEADER left Emden on the 31st stopped in the UK and is heading towards the Panama Canal. It's off the grid (to far in the open ocean). I hope my CS rep is correct in saying sometime the computer takes a few days to show updates. Fingers crossed!!! |
Looks like most of us are on the same boat guys. One big family :) My dealer also said next week he will have a better idea. I bet we will see our cars on 2nd week of March. My arrival date also says 3/28.
