Default Any GT3 viewable in LA this week?

I'm heading to LA for a couple of days, Santa Clarita / Valencia but arriving via LAX. Any of the local dealers actually have one in the showroom?

I've got some time to kill and it would be great to see one.

Thanks,

Ryan

As of yesterday, there was one in BH's showroom and Auto Gallery's. BH's was white and AG's was black. I would call first to make sure.....but that was the latest...

Were these dealer cars for sale? Or cars awaiting delivery to owners who ordered?

Yes - both are available and both have a $25k markup.

Theres a white one in Beverly Hills and a white and a black one at Circle Porsche in Long Beach. As JCBH said, the one at BH has a 25k mark up while the white one at Circle is marked up but Im not sure yo what degree. The ones at Auto Gallery are sold; not sure if they've been picked up though.

Wow. Makes me happy to have ordered one to spec. That $25K price of admission is a doozy.

That makes me sad. I was following BH on Instagram, and was planning on checking them out for my next purchase. Now I'll need to look elsewhere. You'd think these guys would learn that the markup isn't worth the loss of customer satisfaction.

As far as I know, orders at these dealerships were done at MSRP.

You do not really think dealers really care about your satisfaction do you? There are more buyers that will take your place.

Heh, I suppose you don't run a business then. Also, if there were more buyers, they wouldn't have a GT3 sitting there.

Yes, orders at BHP were done at MSRP on GT3's but the currently available white car was passed on by the customer so the dealer wants a markup. I guess it is supply and demand. My feeling is that if you did not order a car, and want it now, then a premium is fair, as supply is less than demand. I do think that $25k is too high, but the market will bear that out. Some dealers have apparently gotten $25k over, but I also know some dealers that have gotten $10k, as well.

Actually what is happening, with customers backing out, the dealer is buying the car and titling it as a used car and selling it with mark up. This way dealer is abiding with Porsche standards of no mark up.

Yes, that happens a lot with Ferrari's...but BHP and Auto Gallery for example sell them as new with the markup...it is right there on the window, next to the window sticker, and it is not yet punched. Very odd. I would think that Porsche would frown upon it. I even heard that Auto Gallery bought cars at MSRP or more from other dealers, then sold them at $25k over to make a few bucks. The good news for us owners is that these cars are popular and aside from being fun to drive and own, they will likely hold some value for a while.

Pacific Porsche on PCH in Torrance has a white one on display and it is the dealership owner's car, so it will be around for while.
