Default Consolidated 991RS thread

Consolidated. Moderators, can we pile a few threads together?

I was told and I think it's correct but who knows..
Big rear spoiler.
Its very rough and hardcore, specially the PDK-S only programming. The RS bangs gears insanely hard. Very easy to drive much faster than 997RS.

The promo intro color will be non metallic orange but a deeper darker orange than the .1RS. Its a 4 liter car. 20" front and 21" rear wheels, the rears are 345.
Big air intakes in the side only, nothing behind the rear window, just like a Turbo. Very wide ***, wider than TT and the front fenders don't have the clip-on extenders but are real wider finders. 275? But that is my guess.

Introduced next month in Geneva.

Personally, I can't wait. I hope it's a similar step in performance as the 458 was over the 430.

It will be lighter by 25-30 kg at most, 500 hp and cost about $180K. The standard Gt3 will seem like much better value for money.

All sounds reasonable and awesome (sans the 21 rears) but wider than the TT? That sounds insane...

345 rear sounds a little insane if you ask me The other stuff seems doable. I just hope the engine is reliable, been reading a lot of small issues with the 991 GT3

Anyways, they won't have my business with PDK only regardless.

I can't wait for the reveal. In my opinion, the most anticipated car for 2014. For a 50k premium over the GT3 it should be insane.

With those tyre sizes what's the use??? Defeats the purpose of buying it as a dedicated track car... It's now becoming a hardcore boulevard cruiser that bangs in gears super hard for added effect ie F458 and all the other show ponies...

A track day weekend will be like $3k+ US in tyres... Shame they couldn't keep it real and do all that on 19s....

Bigger gap between the GT3 and RS than we've seen before. This car's going to be a shocker. 345 will give monstrous grip, monstrous check book devastation.

Even if the base GT3 will be the value leader, this sounds like a very different car, a truer RS than the 997 variants. Anyone on the fence better have some money down, after the reveal it'll be too late!

Maybe. Or, it could be greater than 50-60kg lighter (buckets, magnesium roof, standard PCCBs and a host of other items would make that easily attainable) with 515-525hp, even shorter gear ratios and the aforementioned super fast PDK. Harness this to monster grip chassis and you have a beast.

I thought you'd be all over it given your other posts.

Double wishbone front suspension like the RSR?
