I call bullocks on the whole argument that Porsche can't make a manual work on the GT3 with the electronics in place.
Yeah, covered already. Porsche integrated the pump to run the ediff in the PDK box. Other manufacturers like Ferrarihave a separate pump so a manual and auto can be fitted (in the 430). Presumably, Porsche would have to have an external pump to run the ediff when fitted with with a manual.

AP offered loss of ediff control as an excuse for PDK. It was sort of a lame excuse (but valid for the current car) b/c surely PAG can engineer a proper pump system for the ediff.

I have an allocation.

Granted, it's a dealer allocation and not a mfr allocation.

Let's not compare apples to oranges. The diff in a Porsche is integrated with the gearbox, the diff in a BMW is a stand alone unit. Designing a different gearbox for a BMW need not affect the diff design, and vice versa.

I'm not saying it would have been impossible for Porsche to design an e-diff that worked inside a MT housing for a limited production car, but it would have been a more complex engineering problem than the one BMW faced and more expensive as well.

Sure Ferrari did it on the F430. F430's sold for $200K, the GT3 for $130K. The engine/gearbox locations are different and packaging may have been an issue. Again, apples to oranges.

Thanks for the definition. You have nothing but a promise from a dealer. Dealers have not been allocated anything resembling the RS. There are no guarantees the dealer you have your allocation with will get the RS.

Me too. Pretty amazing that the record it set 38 years ago still stands. 71B dual-cockpit trainer:

I wonder if they will delay the introduction an entire year to introduce it in Geneva 2015 with a manual and the 2015 facelift?

I'd like to hear more about these mythical "lost sales" when we all know the state of allocations in US and UK.

MT instead of PDK-S, no RWS....it's going to be difficult to justify a $50K price delta for a car that likely won't be any quicker than a GT3 absent those features. Just sayin"....
there is also the interesting question (if the MSRP is approx correct) what will justify such a price differential; especially when you look back at the 7.1 and 7.2 RS specs and price differentials, this one (again if correct) is significantly larger than either of those ... now part of it may just be marketing & pricing, but the interesting question is where is the value?
