If manual is offered for the RS, that will undermine all arguments for only offering PDK in the GT3.

At some point (maybe not on this RS), I think Porsche is going to offer a car with GT3 motor and manual gearbox - might be a limited edition something or other (like the 4.0 was). There is too much money left on the table for a minor effort on their part.

AP mentioned in a an interview last fall, that there is always a possibility a special edition, manually equipped, GT3/RS could be a consideration.

its NOT going to happen!

If they wouldn't spend the money to develop one for both the GT3 and RS why would they then spend the money to retroactively develop one for the RS alone ...

GET OVER IT!

Besides, wouldn't a manual 991 GT3 RS be slower than a PDK-S 991 GT3?

I don't think PAG would stand for that.

certainly the margin between the two cars would be less, even if Walter was at the wheel ... for the rest of us it would probably be a wash unless the RS is powered by "Mr Fusion"(tm)

Also, since the RS launch is "impending" (presumably this year) Porsche would *not* be thinking about a manual box at this point since the car is *done* and has been through testing cycles etc and on its way to Geneva or wherever...

So at this point the RS either *has* a manual box, or it does *not* ... IMO.

I'm sure you can buy a beefeater BBQ for like only $3-4k Trak! Put the other $157k towards food to cook on it...

Exactly. Even if they developed a new MT for the RS and then offered it on the GT3 it would still make their original arguments look hypocritical. At the same time they would p*ss off a lot of early buyers of the GT3 who are already disappointed by the seat issue and, possibly, by some of the little PITA quality problems. Not to mention all the people who passed on the original round of allocations because there was no MT, although I suppose some of those guys would be overjoyed by Porsche's return to righteousness...

Offering a MT is probably not as (relatively) simple as it sounds. Wouldn't they have to nix the eDiff which is intimately tied into the PDK? And even the RWS might be affected. Effectively they would have to offer the MT with an LSD and then redevelop all the control software....

Even if a MT is made for the RS which I doubt, I'd bet the PDK would be as well. They couldn't have the RS be slower than the GT3. Also, can't see the RS without RWS either.

Possible that the option choices break down to manual coming without RWS.....whereas the PDK-S version is available with RWS..

such a choice thereby dealing with the rumoured homologation issues on RWS

or maybe the PDK doesn't fit the engine crankcase...
