Another benefit, the cross bracing is at the rear rather than right behind the seat...more room to slide back and easier storage access.

Structurally, I'd rather have the cross-bracing in the vertical plane of the roll bar.

You may very well be right as far as being stronger in a roll over...only engineered tests would prove which one stronger over the other in a roll over. The rear braced config may be adequate for roll over forces. I certainly like it from a practicality standpoint.

I remember installing the TE roll bar by myself for my 996-3. There was a slight warp somewhere in the tubing that made the rear bolts not fit in at first. I had to wedge various sizes of 2x4 with a hammer to get the roll bar bolt points to line up. It was a bitch...6 hours of struggle before I figured out the wedge technique. I am hoping these bars have a better fit during installing. In any event, roll bar installation is a two person job for those slightly out of tolerance connecting points that are probably due to welding heat warpage.

On a White GT3 with red calipers, stitching and seatbelts; what color roll bar you all recommend- white or red?

Allan,

Fitment during the install is a little bit tight since we use interlocking joints for a seamless OEM look. A few other lower cost bars on the market uses a bolt through design and it doesn't look as clean.

As another user have commented, the fitment during the install is tight because the welds shrink as it cools down. Professional installation is highly recommended. We have installed many of these roll bars at our shop and through our network of authorized dealers / installation centers without any major issues. Once the bar is professionally installed in the car, it stays in and you will not have to worry about it.

Black works very well by blending in with the interior.

I did red but my retrofit buckets didn't have red stitching like the rest of the car but you get the picture.

Jerry, Thanks for the reply but, does it fit or, does it have to be Levered" in place, to line up the mounting bolts? Also, what do you or your vendors charge for installation? Lastly, Please recommend a
shop in the Atlanta area for installation. Thank you. Allan

Thanks. I bet that would look good. Mine no longer matches but function over form makes me feel OK with it.
