Not sure about the weight in 20's but it has less spokes.

Default Forgeline

After Sebring this weekend, the car will be shipped to Forgeline for fitment.

I looked over the GT3 at the dealer this afternoon w/ my tech and learned a lot.

All this time, I thought 20" diameter wheels were installed on Porsche's production track dedicated car because of the size of brakes and calipers??? Top to bottom, the length is HUGE for overall length of the calipers. While they are absolutely GINORMOUS, that's not why? At PBOC Winterfest, i went up to look at the 3 GT3 Cup cars testing there and saw they all had 18" wheels and couldn't figure out why they have different size calipers and brakes and thought we were getting hosed.

Actually, the rear wheel of the street production GT3 has the mount that is extremely different than the Cup cars?? There is absolutely NO room whatsoever for a different size wheel on our street version?

In full admission, I am NOT an engineer and as stated, my car will be delivered to Forgeline. They're as good as anyone can get, so if anyone can figure it out, they will. But, if they can't I'm not interested in paying $8000 just for spare wheels to keep on track and will purchase track wheels from Forgeline, regardless.

Our intent is to engineer a 19" or smaller diameter wheel for the 991 GT3. We have a lot of experience with the 991 Cup car and hope to use that knowledge for ideas on a 18 or 19" wheel. The main reason for this is tire selection for track use.
There is no guarantee we can come up with a smaller diameter solution, but at minimum we will come up with a lighter, stiffer, as well as alternative design.

You are correct. The cup cars use a different knuckle and control arm assembly, and from what Ive seen they would be needed for the street cars to use wheels under 20".

Great to hear – lots of us are looking for a smaller diameter wheel for better tire options.

If someone just offers a wheel and Hoosier R6 fitment, they'll have a lot of customers. 19 would be great for the steel brake cars, but unrealistic, I think, for the 410mm front rotors, given 19's were a tight fit for 396mm rotors (unless you want something that scraps the paint off the drum and the caliper) so I think the steel brake cars will have an advantage, but for the PCCB cars, a 20 inch and DOT slick solution will be in demand.

HRE posted this on the Turbo forum. Looks like they can make 19" CL wheels?
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...onoblocks.html

BTW, while at the dealership the other day, I inquired about OEM wheel prices. List price for fronts $2,500 and rears $2,800 per wheel. Ouch.

Just spoke to Forgeline today.

They've confirmed ability to cut 19" wheels!

Apparently, there is a bracket of sorts that impedes the 19", but Forgeline was able to move it w/ minimal work.

So, it looks like 19"s are not only a possibility, but reality.

Thanks Forgeline.
