Default GT3 Insurance?

Was in Vegas having a good time with some buddies over the last couple days... Talking about the GT3 coming in April, high fivin', smiling. Then one of my stick in the mud friends said "what's it gonna cost you to insure that beast?" Which actually I hadn't thought about.

I tried to act like I had done the research and it won't be that bad, but I clearly didn't pull it off very well. Any ideas? Currently with Allstate, no tickets, house, 3 cars, boat insured with them.

GT3 will get 7,500-10,000 miles a year I think.

Mine were both shockingly cheap. But... maybe that's more to do with my age, driving history, clean driving record, home ownership, etc.

My '09 C2S was costing me $850 a year. I expect the GT3 will be more but not outrageous.

Soooooo many variables, those you mentioned etc. I would recommend insuring for a specific value, and the miles you drive will effect your premium. If it's not a daily driver, they give you a pretty good break.....I have Westfield Insurance in OH and they even cover my car on the track, as long as it's not a race or timed event.

It's going to depend on where you live for sure.

Here in rural Illinois, 900/year with State Farm.

Thanks all. I spoke to my agent as well...Allstate. Will be not much more than my 2013 Audi s4 it is replacing. Just about 900/yr it looks like.

However my agent told me that if Allstate finds out the car was on a track, they will cancel me. My feeling was that they would likely cover the first incident and then show me the door, but that was just a guess. He's a good guy and is just letting me know that risk is there.

Anyone else receive confirmation of insurance cancellation with track use?... That is very alarming, much more than warranty cancellation

Not insuring you for track claims is one thing. Dropping your policy for track use is another.

Things like no commuting to and from work/school and under 7,500 miles/year will give you some of the lower rates.

Most likely your policy has a Racing/Track exclusion and it will not be covered at all.

No coverage. Just the door. For DE's, just buy event coverage.

Lockton offers DE coverage but if you insure a new porsche at its true value, it's pretty costly and likely not better than self insuring depending on your particulars. On the other hand I understand a lot of folks don't insure for a total loss but for a likely dollar amount it would take to repair a two wall tank slapper ($30-$50k).
