Agree! Don't worry I'm not looking to buy it just wanted to see one in the flesh while I wait. Springfield is actually pretty far away from chicago. Thanks for the info.

HA! Thanks! Out of the nearly 200 emails I've sent, I have found three with allocations available. But I'm working with Porsche North America to try to be able to do the deal through my local dealer, where I have an existing relationship. It has actually been a very interesting experiment/research project into supply/demand imbalance.

I did this same thing. I'm getting the only GT3 allocation in Northern Nevada.

Not sure it made a difference or not, but I contacted PNA about the lack of allocations for Northern Nevada Tahoe area. Two weeks later my dealer called me and told me they could get me the car.

Supply and demand, capitalism at its best. I have no problem with dealers marking it up for people who can afford it.

wow that is a pretty low #!

I wonder how many have allocations that they have specced but do not have a customer for?

care to share the names of those dealers?

enjoy your car when you get it ... dont forget to take the factory tour and museum when you collect it in Zuffenhausen!

I'm getting European delivery and you actually have up to 6 months before VAT kicks in. Other than that you can actually keep it longer if you pay VAT. I assume after some point Porsche may not ship it back for you for free.

That's impressive, how did you find the right rep at PNA?

Strangely, here in Washington DC there are little to no cars coming, I have 5 porsche dealers within 40 miles and i think they got 2-3 between all of them. But then I hear nationwide there are random dealers getting 5+ on their own.

I sent a long email to the contact on their website and someone called me back to discuss. They didn't make any promises, but two weeks later I had an order. Might have to do with my remote location and I own three other P-cars?

Interesting, I was told VAT had to be paid upfront, and that they would store it in an escrow until the car got to the States, when it would then be refunded to you.
