Default The new ones like a smoke

Was surprised to see blue smoke from the new one on startup totally at random just like the 997.2. Wasnt expecting that from the new engine. Long live the king!

I always thought that a little smoke on start up was more or less a "feature" of horizontally opposed motors in general and flat sixes in particular. Especially when parked on a less than level surface it's easy for a little oil to pool in the bottom of the cylinder while the car is sitting and get burned off at start-up.

+1 - I've seen it on many non-gt3 Porsches as well.

True dry sump. Other 991s, though labelled as dry sump, don't burn oil on start up. It's cool.

Just love the complete randomness of it all - and how it just looks so wrong when blue smoke billows out and looks like it must be a trabant or something starting up.

Richard,
Your car looked and sounded great. Thanks for allowing me to check it out. Stunning, just stunning.
BTW, no smoke this time.

Some random shots... the rear fender profile is just perfect.

Best,
Udo
