while I realize that at road legal speeds the gt3 is a waste, I'm mostly excited ab the sound it makes when revving at idle, especially on busy San Francisco streets in between tall buildings. That paddle neutral function can make for some really cool revving sounds while stopped at the light, and the decreased turning radius can make for much easier U-turns at the end of the strip so you can go back and forth with ease. Perfect street car IMO.

I enjoyed reading your rationale frayed; it will be interesting seeing how the GT3 measures up for you re: PDK and the other factors you mentioned. As for your statement above, I think we can all relate; hell, it could easily be the sub-heading for this forum!

hopefully the 991RS will be a mental disease like the 997 RS is....it will infect its victims and they will do anything to buy one, not matter what the performance per $ nets out at. It won't be a rational decision...it you want one and have the means to get one, you'll get one...

960 looks great, except that if it comes with a turbo 6 instead of a flat 8 it'll be a bit less interesting to me. And it's already AWD.

There was talk of there eventually being a GT version that would be RWD. That would be cool

There is always the next one. If you wait for that one you never get to play. besides you are going to have to be an awfully good customer to get a GT3RS alocation.

If some of the rumors are to be believed all Porsche's will be Turbo's in the very near future.

No way in the near future. Maybe the higher HP models, so they can meet efficiency requirements.

In the relative near future, I could see Porsche making only turbo Cayenne and Panamera, which are bigger and thirstier anyway, and less involving so not having a NA engine is less important for those cars.

I think it will be a long time before they make turbos mandatory for their true drivers cars like the 911, and Boxster/Cayman.

I do think they will offer a 4 cylinder turbo option for the Boxster/Cayman mid-cycle refresh, and that turbo option will exist alongside the 6 cyl NA models.
