If the 991 GT3 is already Euro 6 compliant, what is squeezing production for Porsche and why have they asked UK dealers to return deposits?

The 911 GT3 environment page states the GT3 is Euro 5 compliant, so as a minimum the GT3 has not been tested for Euro 6.

There is a difference in the way a big V10 is geared. At highway speeds its probably running at a lower RPM due to higher low end torque. if you figure each revolution produces an amount of particulate and pollutant gases, more RPM at cruise can make it harder to pass emissions regs.

Very good point...and we certainly wouldn't want to see a GT3 with the "normal" PDK (7th gear being an overdrive gear) just to please the regs.

I also wish I knew the answer to this question. Could be that this is the end of the run for the GT3 in its current form, or they have to end the 991.1's and get ready for the 991.2s in a couple of years.

I'm keeping a sliver of hope alive that there will be a 991.2 GT3.
