Alpine-Al, the dealer I am buying from received 1 build each quarter for 2014. He showed me evidence of such. Big volume dealer so they get GT cars, unlike my previous dealer (sm. volume) who did not get any. Historically, they would receive 1 gt3 per model cycle; this round they were skipped. If your dealer really received build for next year they would know it now. Hope that helps.

Thanks 911dev. My dealer had two GT3 allocations in 2013 and both of those are build orders in the system now. I've got my fingers crossed that they get at least two allocations in 2014 'cuz I'm sitting in the second slot.

I wonder if Porsche really would continue to build cars for other markets that don't meet standards for Europe. Anyway, very interesting stuff. Thanks Ryan, for expanding on previous comments around this topic.

based on my discussion with the sales manage he thinks here will not be any more allocation's in 2014 but who really knows.

North America and evolving China are pretty big markets. Not so sure I see Porsche stopping production after 3 - 3.5 quarters. They developed this car for four years.

My allocation for feb build/april delivery was an added one.

No doubt about NA and China; it's just that bottom line Porsche is a German company so it makes me wonder if they will continue to offer ROW cars that they don't/can't sell in their home market. I don't pretend to know the answer to that question, and I also don't know enough about the Euro 6 regs to know what kind of loopholes there might be. It's just fodder for forum speculation at the moment although I realize it may cause some anxiety.

If these upcoming Euro 6 regs have the potential to kill the NA engine outlook for future GT3s - then why did Lamborghini just release the Gallardo replacement (the Huracan) with a more powerful verson of it's NA 5.2L, near 9,000rpm limit V10?

Good question. Lamborghini claims the new engine variant is already Euro 6 compliant. One source even says it has already passed Euro 6 emissions testing.

As far as I can find, the Euro 6 regs are the same as the current Euro 5 regulations for gasoline engine vehicles which have been in existence since September 2010.

The 911 GT3 environment page states the GT3 is Euro 5 compliant, so as a minimum the GT3 has not been tested for Euro 6.

There is a difference in the way a big V10 is geared. At highway speeds its probably running at a lower RPM due to higher low end torque. if you figure each revolution produces an amount of particulate and pollutant gases, more RPM at cruise can make it harder to pass emissions regs.

For pollutant gases this is true, however the Euro 6 regs add a particulate limit to gasoline engines similar to that already imposed on diesels.

FWIW my registration papers says it's Euro 6 compliant. Could be a mistake but the registration authorities tend to not take these things lightly.
