sport seats or adaptive sports seats?

I'm doing vinyl or seat covers. The curves only apply to airbag deployment panel which can be done as a separate small sheet. As long as it hides and darkens the silver, I'm good. I didn't go with the leather rear covers because I like the CF covers better.

Any further news on the availability of these seats or estimated timing of an answer of the carbon racing seats? I've read all the other RL threads on this topic...just didn't know. I have an estimated May delivery date, and am considering giving my spot to the #2 guy on the dealer list so I can have a chance to get these seats, but I don't want to miss out completely b/c my dealer is only a mid-level volume dealer in the DC area.

Bird in a hand. I contemplated that but ultimately decided to stick with the early build b/c there's no certainties when it comes to these seats. Even if 10k/pair, pull them out at the end of ownership, sell for 5k and put your perfect regular seats back in for sale.

frayed: i think that's where my head's at right now too. at the end of the day, the only thing that makes me question the current 18-way is the awesomeness of the carbon buckets on a relative basis. on an absolute basis, the 18-ways are phenomenal seats and i must admit i'm probably going to baby this car more in the initial years as a weekend warrior on the streets rather than a track warrior, so the real need of having the lateral support of the buckets isn't there - it's just the wow factor of what they do to the interior. i think i'm in your camp and i'll cross my fingers that they're approved by my order date.

ken, the buckets are a trade off, however. IMO, not worth the wow factor unless you start hitting the track from time to time. The deep bolsters are a PITA to get into/out of on a daily basis after their initial awesomeness wears off. And I'm not fat.
I figure having both is actually a good option (cost notwithstanding).

frayed: good advice - thanks. i agree and assume that if it's really a big enough deal and they become available, it's a small price to pay for a car that i want to keep for 20+ years.

My plan was originally the same as frayed's and it may still work out. I was just afraid that even $10K might turn out to be a bargain price for the new 918 derived sport buckets on the aftermarket, and that $15K or more might be more realistic. I probably wouldn't be willing to pay that, in which case having the best OEM seats I could get with the car seemed like a reasonable hedge. Guess we'll see what happens.

True enough frayed, but it might be a tough sell when I explain to my wife that I need to spend another $15K on seats. As an attorney, you don't happen to do divorces too, do you?
