It's interesting how such small differences add up to a car that looks so much larger in real life (based on my inspection of the 991S). Maybe its the combined effect of those dimensions along with lower roofline and more rake in the windshield.
Yeah, I think the key is the width across the front axle, which is a different measurement than front track and includes the bodywork. At that point, the 991 GT3 is almost 1.5" wider than the RS. (Front track on the 991 GT3, 997 GT3, and 997 RS is 61.06", 58.94", and 59.41" respectively)
