Maybe a durability issue? Or cost issue?
Profit margin.

Ohlins are da bomb. Had em on my bike

Sure it is. The new GT-R is faster than the previous generation - just like the GT3. That's progress.

Probably. They are $$$.

I want a Ford Raptor only b/c of that badass Fox suspension.

I bet the Nismo GT-R costs nowhere near $200k. I am guessing something very close to the GT3 pricing. Any other guesses? Will be revealed Tues...

It's going to be a very limited production. My guess for the Nismo with Track Pack = US$185k.

I think I would rather take the 'Vette ZR1 over the GTR. I'm assuming the C7 version will surpass 650HP, will still come with a manual and will compete with the GTR for lap times-after all the C6 ZR1 did 7:19.63 with Jim Mero driving in 2012, so a sub-7:10 for the C7 ZR1 isn't unrealistic. And the ZR1 isn't any less pretty than the GTR.

Of course, I don't plan to ever buy either vehicle.

Makes you wonder how many they'd sell if it looked more like an NS-X and less like a puffy Celica. In any case, GT-R wins Nurburgring.

7.08....really?
Maybe for 1 lap...with that girth, I'm sure the brakes will start melting very quickly.
I remember what WR said while driving the 991GT3, the condition of their vehicles stays the same over 20 or 30 laps. That's the difference of Porsches.

I'm no Amateur racer, but my 997.1RS stays in the same condition over 15min tracking around ORP (2.2mile course).

It appears that the adhesive enhanced bodyshell construction method is effective. The car in the picture appears to have survived a sound beating with the ugly stick without sustaining any body damage.
