Default Aquamarine?

I have ordered PTS in the past (Aetna Blue) and wanted to go through that again but this time with Aquamarine (Z62) which was in a 356 photo earlier in this thread.

I was told by Porsche Exclusive that they couldn't do it on a 911. What is strange is that it is possible on a Panamera. So it's not because the paint will fade or whatever, it must have to do with their supply chain. I couldn't get a straight answer as to why.

Eduardo I'm sure has the answer. In any case, a huge disappointment since having seen that color in person, for me it's a must-have.

I don't have THE answer. But I can speculate just like you did. It's rare when they don't allow a PTS color for the 991 and 981, but it's approved for the Panamera. It currently applies to only two PTS colors - Aquamarine and Atlas Grey Metallic. You would think that the surface materials are approximately the same for each model - steel, aluminum, plastic. So like you said, it would more likely be the inability of important sub-contractors that pre-paint certain parts at their locations away from the principal paint spray booth facilities at Porsche Zuffenhausen (991 & 981 Boxster) or Karmann Osnabrück (981 Cayman & Boxster) to get this particular PTS color exactly matched at their remote satellite locations. But if 'Porsche Exclusive' can't explain it to you, who are we to try!

Eduardo

Zeus, my guess would be 'Anthracite Brown Metallic'. But who knows what kind of filter the photographer is using. One thing for sure, this is the worse spot to have parked a brand new gt3 in all of Munich!

He was probably speaking to the chinook style helicopter.
