Since it shares absolutely nothing back there with the production car, does it matter?

Those are not same as turbo intakes. I don't believe this relates.

Interesting and cool about the 4.0L, if true. But didn't the previous RS come with PASM and ABS? Computer controlled adjustable suspensions and anti-lock brakes aren't allowed for racing either but they were on the street car, so I don't see why RWS would have to be left off the street version for homologation purposes. That part sounds suspect to me.....

Thanks for the info!

Is the 4.0L a bigger version of the engine in the 991 GT3 (with direct injection, etc.)?

Any word on (and I shudder to ask...) the transmission?

There was an interview with Porsche engineering around the time of the last LeMans, where they stated that the side inlets are for engine cooling.- and so efficient they had to be blocked off halfway. I suppose it is possible they are from the turbo, but I would have thought the race cars used a lighter material.

I believe that the rumor of 21" wheels came out months ago. But yeah, why?

Baller! To show that one can pee further than the next guy... Between the running costs of 21" tyres and initial outlay, they probably hope to ensure none see the track more than 3-4 times a year for warranty purposes...

I wouldn't be so quick to applaud the rumoured lack of RWS. If this system lives up to its billing then you'll get a duller turn-in with more oversteer without it. Porsche was claiming the system is worth the equivalent of 75bhp or so in terms of performance gain. That would completely negate the other rumoured advantages of the RS... If true.

Thanks for posting. My concern is the date. It has been traditionally 9 months or so between the GT3 and the RS, sometimes a little longer. As the GT3 is still not here, June seems quick. If that is a Euro date, then as the car has not been offically "introduced" at any of the major auto shows, again as is tradition, and then given the usual time after the showing where Moody's comments and critiques are implemented before production, that would also make the timeline tight. One of my favorite Faulkner quotes is "The past is never dead, it is not even the past." Much like the south, Porsche is rich in tradition. Of all of their cars, doubt this car will be rushed to market.

I only can believe the 4.0 500HP the rest I don't buy. (This could be a clever Mooty post...)
