Why would there be a discount on a waiting list car?

There wouldn't be unless you were working with a very generous dealer. Know many of those.....?

997 GT3 and RS were also waiting list cars. Go over to the 997 GT3 forum and ask how many original purchasers got discounts. You'll be surprised.

Yeah, I get the math.
Are you saying you got $3k off your order?
That said, I typed the aforementioned LMAO as Nizer posted 2% off a car he can say nothing good about. So LMFinAO.

Maybe the question should be how many people are paying over MSRP from the dealer or a broker.

I did, 4/11 on a 12/10 production car (but it was this horrible blue color and was covered in leather)

I'm surprised that dealers aren't charging an upcharge on the GT3. If they were anything like the Ferrari dealers, they would have their army of "buyers" getting the car at msrp and quickly flipping them for $25-50K more than msrp.

I am not sure why Porsche is artificially creating a shortage of these cars. I would produce as many as I could sell.

The new Ferrari thing is ridiculous. I just buy them used now.
