Track Tires for the 991 GT3?

Unfortunately, I don't think ANY R comp type of tire like the MPSC will last more than a few track days.

One would certainly hope that is the case, but it does not always work out that way. There were many holes in 997 sizing (particularly race and soft compound street) that were never filled by the big names simply because Porsche owners were the only market for the size. While they do represent a decent market segment, alone they are not enough to warrant the cost of development for the size. I don't suspect that we will see much movement (at least initially) on the newer 20" sizing in race compounds. I do hope the big brands acknowledge the need for the sizing and act accordingly for the new cars.

I've got 19s on my 991 c2s and the tire situation isn't much better there. Going with a different rolling diameter, you can get r888, MPSC+, and trofeo, but that's about it. No r-comps available in the standard diameter. I put on MPSC and they lasted about 5 track days. Next up for me is the r888, as they are half the price.

I'm not sure if that's the limiting factor. On the 991, the thing that makes even most 19s not fit is a lower control arm on the rear wheels that hits the barrel.

MPSS... Super Sport? They already come in 20s. MPSS are good DD tires with lots of longevity on the street, but aren't suitable for track.

19" R888's are great choice. Dry and wet tire in one and can drive them to the track. And a $50 rebate from us on a set of 4 combined with a great price to start makes for a super deal.

Keeping in mind, of course, that it's a smaller rolling diameter. You need to learn to adjust the speedo down about 4%.
