You got me!
I used to be terrible, pretty much steered hone handed.
I got pretty good but when we were not on it too hard I relaxes and don't focus too much. bad habit slipped back in I see. Thanks for pointing that out.
PDK will fix it right? But I will make that a big focus when the 996CUP arrives. You never stop learning.

Porsches have been beating larger, more powerful and more expensive cars on the race track and road since the 356 speedster started humbling American Iron on West Coast race circuits in the late 50s.
Theres no news here.
Say what you will regards track length and tyre choice but the 991 GT3 outperformed the m12C in the handling department on road and on track in that EVO Review and there's no argument about it - just read the review. It was more balanced, put its power down better, braked harder and turned into corners quicker. The M12C was understandable quicker on the straights. With 35% more power and torque that's understandable. With the optional track wheel package on most tracks in the USA and UK I would imagine there wouldn't be much between these two.
But yet again we are really comparing the boggo GT3 against these massive super cars. The 4.0RS, M12C, 458 and 2013 GTR.
Its understandable as the new 991 GT3RS hasnt broken cover yet but when it does what is there going to be to compare it against? Pagani? Lambo 400k Adventura? 458S? Stealth jet?

Maybe because in the us we have cars we see everyday the hand beatdowns to that entire list that name dropping expensive exotics is not impressive.
Id be more impressed of it can simply beat a Z06.

Hey mate. Dont stress about it. It hasn't even happened yet and you may win the bottle of plonk. It was quite a strong debate at the time. I was arguing a factory time under 7.27 as my mate had watched the test drivers clock a 7.26 and 7.27 early in testing. I kinda had an advantage here although I didnt realize they would go for 7.25. I believe there were lower times on the table but I digress....
Lets see what happens but as you say it doesnt matter in any case. Its a big leap forward from past bog standard GT3 times I guess..

Yes..now I remember, it was about the 7:27..but if I would look back at the posts, I think ..we took rather a bet on the sport auto result and not a factory claim...but anyway. Even if it will be 2-4 seconds slower, it will be remarkable because the car is 100k cheaper then the 4-12C..!!..from that point of view..nothing to loose.
A friend just gave the test results from auto motor sport test on the 991 GT3 (I fear the debate Pdk - manaul will heat up again, PS: dont shoot me...I was never per se against Pdk, juist saying Porsche should offer both):
991 GT3: 0-100km/h: 3.6sec. 0-200:12,1sec ; 100-200: 8,5sec
997 GT3 3.8: 0-100km/h: 4,1sec, 0-200: 12,7; 100-200: 8,6sec
all the best,

There is a video of a 0-124mph run from someone, maybe it's AMS. The video showed the car being much slower than it should be as well.

Even with a few hundred pounds (passenger) it should have been within 2/10's to 124mph. The factory test at 11.4sec to 124mph would fit with the power, weight, etc. It'll be interesting to see acceleration tests from reviewers soon.

The additional 220lb will make 0.1s difference to 100 and 0.4+s to 200km. The additional weight affects the 0-200 times more than 0-100. Unfortunately AMS test with driver, passenger and test gear approx 100kg ballast.
The car broke a few AMS records for its braking (Carbon stoppers) etc.
Personally I am surprised that from 100km ph there is any real advantage to the 991 GT3 over the 997.2 GT3 as the weight is supposedly up by 40kg and the torque difference in the engine is marginal (7lbft). I would expect an advantage from PDK in terms of shift time......
