Why not optional 21" wheels?

Grand-Am and World Challenge both restrict use to 18" wheels period in the GT classes. No bigger or smaller. Your selective tunnel vision is not going to work here. Not only that but you are still using as the basis for your rationale, and last I checked prototypes are not based on fully streetable chassis cars. All of the same rules will not apply.

And the fact that they all use the maximum allowed by the rules and none use less is the point that you're trying very hard to miss. I can give you contacts in the motorsports department if you want to explain to them they're all doing it wrong, though.
But you're just talking now. I think I've made my point.

Sorry, same wheels rules for Le Mans GT classes, no minimum, 18" maximum.

I'm sure you're right. The same manufacture that can make a safe 21.15" wheel for a 260+ mph 2 ton Bugatti, can't possibly make a 19" wheel for a 1 ton 200 mph GT car.

260 mph in a straight line has nothing on 2+ g's, huge amounts of heat, VERY low relative weight and material, jumping and bouncing off of curbs for 2-24 hrs. You are plenty smart enough to know that much. But just determined to argue I see.

I'm not the one who has any explaining to do. You are the one arguing for the 20's remember? Please explain to the FIA and ACO how they are missing out on tons of speed because they won't allow the cars to run up to 22 inch wheels.

Good, let us know when 20's become the preferred tires for anything other than bling. When they make a variety of slicks and racing level tires and we see them on real race cars.
Oh and dont forget the 22's. Lol.
Wont be holding my breath.
