I just cant see them introduce an RS with the wrong seats.
The RS is circling the Ring so it should be ready enough for a car show with late 2014 delivery..

Frankfurt is in September, only a month and a half away. I don't see the RS being shown there. I'd bet on a debut at the beginning of next year and equipment which includes the new sport buckets.

While on this subject, is there anyone planning on swapping the GT3 later for an RS? I am thinking that a year later, the 3 may not depreciate as much and trading up may not be a huge loss. I have a $1,000 deposit on one but am not sure if I will eventually take delivery. Trying to see what's the thought process on this forum.

I have no plan to trade the GT3 for an RS; the 3 fits my needs (wants) perfectly. If I did want an RS, though, I'd just wait the additional 9 months or so and buy one, rather than taking any depreciation hit at all on a 3. But then I'm just a poor engineer of simple means.......

Thanks, Mike. I realize Carreras drop prices like nuts and so do GT3s of some age but for this new car, if production is still limited in a year, would you anticipate a big depreciation as well? That's assuming rave reviews continue.

Sam, if GT3's were still really hard to get a year from now, it's possible that a used one would command a premium. But if not, under the best of circumstances you would likely take at least a 10-15% hit not to mention paying sales tax which is significant on a car like this. It depends how lucky you're feeling with regard to predicting the 991 GT3 market.
I know there are folks on this forum for whom demand relative to car prices is extremely inelastic, and buying frequent multiple exotics is no big deal. I'm not quite in that category, so I'm willing to be patient. Your situation may be completely different.
Just my thoughts....

Mike, I appreciate your input. I don't know if my newly found "hobby" of going to the track frequently will continue in full swing. If it indeed does and IF I get really good at the track, then I may get the RS. It will also depend on the GT3's market as well as RS prices.

The GT3 was introduced in Frankfurt 2012 right?
Its coming up soon but with the GT3 and TT selling now, I think 12 months later it would make sense if they'd introduce the RS there as well.
I guess if they delay it means there's more to an RS than weight reduction and spoilers so that could be a good thing..

The GT3 was released in Geneva 2013. My thought is an RS release in Frankfurt. I believe Porsche has released at least one if not more RS versions at Frankfurt in the past. Ferrari is expected to show the hardcore version of the 458 next at Frankfurt and I'd expect Porsche to counter with their own version.

My bad, I thought the GT3 was first shown at Frankfurt but maybe it was the TT, I forget.
I figured a year after GT3, so intro at Geneva march 2014 with the first deliveries late 2014?
Perhaps a months or 2 quicker from intro to delivery for the RS.
When are the first GT3's and TT's arriving state side?

Of course I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't shown in Frankfurt for a few reasons: the show is in Germany, the 458 scuderia or whatever they call it will likely be there, the spy photos and videos show an essentially show ready car, and Geneva 2014 is too far away.
