looking back at previous engine evolutions they seem to fall into the following categories:
- improved air intake (7.2 RS over 7.2 GT3)
- improved heads/intake plenum (6.2 RS vs 6.2 GT3?)
- capacity (4.0 RS - I know a gross simplification)

not sure which of these *might* be available to the RS ... 4.0?
Sorry I should have been clearer. This will not be a Porsche Motorsports dept announcement. It will simply be an agenda item for AP to cover off with the press with more clarity during interviews. Official PMS announcement usually happens in Nov/Dec prior to new Euro racing season opening in Q2 2014.

Sorry Macca I should have been more precise ... I was referring to the 991 RS launch not the PMS engine announcement.

if there were "issues' mating the Mezger to a PDK, I wonder if there are similar issues mating the new GT3 engine to a suitable sequential box for the track???

I'm curious to see how they differentiate the RS from the GT3 this time around...

I'm guessing (from those ring spy pics) that the RS is based on the TT/S chassis ... I cant imagine they would not use the CF roof option on the RS...

there is bound to be appropriate aero... but beyond that where does Porsche lighten the car (esp with the TT body) and what about suspension and engine, is there more power available from the new engine ... or are we looking at a 4.0 block???

Maybe the RS will remove the gear shift paddles..to reduce weight....

Everyone gets to leave it in D!
