[QUOTE=silverrules;11081027]Planning on entire front, both doors (area behind door handles included), side mirrors, rockers, and rear. No one usually takes ownership for the nail scratches On my current car I have paint chips on both doors (2 on each side).. I think it comes from debris launched from front tires.

If you do the doors you will need to remove the mirrors for the install to look clean. That was something I was considering and may do later.

My door paint was struck by front tire spewed debris as well. I agree with your covered areas, too include the door handle cups. Consider the A-Pillars and leading 8-10 inches of roof as well (You may already have that planned doing the front). Wrapping the doors gets expensive, although I have considered it.

My local detailer/XPEL installer in Allentown, PA (E.J. Core at www.rockguardfilm.com) did an utterly fabulous job, wrapping the film underneath body panels, emblem, hood, etc. where possible ... clearly lives up to the product's ad: "Drive a new car every day"

Below find schematics of pre-cut XPEL kits and pricing he offered, including all materials and labor ... very satisfied with result. 10-year warranty.

XPEL ULTIMATE clear urethane kits:
Hood, fender, and mirror kit - full coverage $1,250.00
Bumper and front fascia kit - extended coverage $450.00
Rocker panel kit - extended coverage $350.00
Roof / A-pillar kit $100.00

Great diagrams. Do you know if these are GT3 specific?

They appear to be. I know xPel has 991GT3 specific pre-cut kits available.

Front fascia appears to be GT3 for sure.

The key problem I experienced is with price estimates. Installers here in SF Bay Area are asking for $4k for what snabbgt3 put up and about $8k for the entire car. The cost is getting close to a quality paint job. There's also cost to maintaining the film - sealant, repairing damages, etc. You do, in theory, get to peel off the film at some point and enjoy a near pristine original paint job for the parts that was covered.

It also cost a bit of money to get the film properly removed.

Those prices are crazy. A top end installer, in Atlanta for example, using xPel or other great products is charging about $1200-$1400 for the entire front clip. Removing today's film (as long as it's not old 3M) is reasonable at about $300-$400.

From my experience, the cost to maintain is no worse than the same cost to maintain the paint.

In NY Detailing Dynamics, another great installer, might hit you $2,000-$2,500 for the install.

For me, having the clear bra for the first 4-5 years alone, maybe more, then removing it if needed and going bare, has significant value at these prices, not at $4,000; $8k no way.

Thought actual schematics of the kits would be most useful for all, to make this process of deciding on extent of coverage easier. The rocker panel kit replaces the relatively small film, arriving on the GT3 from Germany, situated immediately in front of the rear wheel wells. That small film is removed by the XPEL installer prior to placing new extended coverage film.

These are the new 2014 GT3 991 XPEL urethane pre-cut films ... recently released.

I had all but the "Roof/A-pillar" kit installed ... took two days with two detailers applying film, which simplifies application of larger sheets of urethane.

Welcome ... may have installer apply relatively inexpensive Roof/A-pillar kit subsequently, at $100, as recommended by 911dev.

I used the XPEL ULTIMATE Kits below on my Rhodium Silver GT3. XPEL has ready-cut patterns for the 2014 GT3 and they fit perfectly. I used Ultimate on my C2S and was very satisfied with track and street protection it gave me - and I liked the 10 year warranty. Alan Seligman from Orlando, FL installed it and has done many PCA installations in the SouthEast and Midwest. He is the BEST! Alan (Invincaman) Cell is 407-927-1900 His office No. is 407-767-0966 Website is <invincaman@cfl.rr.com>
I asked him about Windshield protection. He advised the present windshield tearoffs were designed for Plastic race windshields and short term use during races. He believed that they would not be acceptable for most street driven cars left on for weeks or months.

Getting my new GT3's front end done using Xpel ultimate here in Dubai as I type this. The wrap will cover:

Front bumper
Both left and right front fenders
Both left and right side mirrors
Front hood
Front Lights and fog lights

Total cost including installation is 1,650 USD

Will post some pics when it's done. Should be picking her up tomorrow afternoon. 3 days installation. The guy is pro
