I changed my build, removed red stitching and belts, went to yellow belts, standard stitching.

Removed illuminated stainless steel door sills.

For the part of the dash that is closest to windshield (past the part that is leather if you order the "and leather" interior...), if you do NOT order the $1,710 Additional Leather (Dash), is it squishy like imitation leather? Or is it just hard like the same material as plastic A/C vents?
full leather extends a few inches from the leading edge. The remainder is a nice plastic. It looks great. I would not order the $1700 additional leather.

I agree. I think that area in front of the leather on the trailing edge of the dash is a combination of high quality vinyl (almost indistinguishable from leather on my 997.2) and soft touch painted plastic. For example, the passenger airbag is located on top of the dash in front of the leather trim. That area is covered in vinyl for obvious reasons.

@Mike in CA -- I just saw a brand new 991 C2S (parked on street). Took a peek through the windshield. It had stitching (not deviated) on leather rear dash (signifying full leather interior), BUT, no stitching on top front dash vents...so my guess is that it does not have the $1,710 Additional Package. That said, the vinyl / plastic looked like it was soft (not a rigid, hard plastic) and, in black, looked basically like leather...

Sounds much like my 997.2. Good to know, 0Q991.

I think people will find this interesting. I spoke to the sales manager at my store, there is an exact date in which build changes are no longer possible. They call it the Change Freeze Point, and the Porsche computer can bring it up with any build. He sent me a screen shot of my order. Apparently it was word of mouth in the past to get this date, but Porsche recently changed their system so that it was available online without having to talk to the factory.

My change freeze point is October 7, 2013 for a November build. See attached.

Great info, Bluehinder. I'll ask my sales rep about this. My date should be slightly later than yours.

Just curious about this: V332 Exit port Emden 11/22/2013 11/22/2013
U002 Entry port Houston 12/20/2013 12/20/2013
How does it take almost a month to sail across the Atlantic? I have ordered three MINI's and two Audi's that had tracking, and time at sea was only around a week.

Good question. Maybe the ship stops in more than one port?

...OR (ever the optimist), perhaps it's just a placeholder for now to be hyper-conservative as to when a car can get on a ship and when said car can be unloaded upon arrival? Meaning, that time window in reality may shrink a week on each side? =)

You may not be over-optimistic. The sales manager at my dealership mentioned that typically all the dates shown were conservative and cars often arrived sooner. We can hope....
