You're missing the forest through the trees.

This is not a discussion about which is better. A pound of boost does equal a pound of boost, regardless of how it's made. The issue is that a modern turbo will make the same boost at 5000 rpm regardless of if it's at sea level or 8000 ft. A modern supercharged car will not. Simple as that.

Read the comments under that article. I'm surprised the same comments aren't coming from this forum on the new GT3.

Due respect, you haven't been around long. They've been made and repeated hundreds of times.....

It doesn't surprise me but note no drivers are listed and no year is listed for the GT3. FWIW, I think those times are based on factory claims.

I haven't posted, but i've been reading since the GT3 was introduced. It just seems most are accepting what's given to them. I almost caught myself doing it until I snapped myself out of it. I'm not happy with the way the new cars are headed. Way too many aids.

I have to really think about this before signing a check.

I've heard that the GT3's standard tires used for the test were much better optimized for the track. If both were on the same rubber the story would be quite different.

I think you could argue it is fair to compare them stock to stock as that is how they will be used primarily, i.e.

The GT3 on Dunlop Sport MAXX Races or Michelin Pilot Sport Cups

And the Turbo stock with Michelin Super Sports (?)

Once you start changing things from stock you are starting down a slippery slope IMO.
