Default Sport Bucket Seats?

Anybody have an idea as to when they will be available?

The communication cars all seem to have them in this country. (Porsche Parade etc.)
Isn't that false advertising if you can't get them?

I've been told that the driver's side bucket that you can see partially in the Chris Harris video will be the design for the new sport bucket, but that it won't be available until "next year sometime". My source was unable to be more definitive than that, so I don't know whether that means later in this model year or not until the next one.

I was told yesterday that there is only ONE 991 GT3 in North America, so it's the same car that everyone is seeing with the 'ROW' bucket seats in them

I doubt they will be offered until the GT3RS, but who knows?

Those seats in the video look like the 918 seats.

The do appear similar, though I think we've discussed this, Jon. The 918 seats I've seen pics of have a headrest separated from the backrest while the ones in the vid are one piece. Maybe the 918 pics I saw were of prototypes, but they were different. Regardless, and FWIW, two things:

1. Why put seats in an engineering test car that will ultimately never go in that car? and...
2. I know someone who was at that CH video shoot and they told me those seats would eventually be in the 991 GT3 sometime next year.

Make of it what you will....

Well, the fact that there is talk of them being available for the GT3 is the only reason that was stopping me from considering buying one. Whenever they will be available, I will be a 991 GT3 customer. Whenever that is!!!!!

You all know my feelings on the lack f these seats for USA car from the thread I started. Porsche lost me as a customer over this problem. Porsche really lost sight of an important option and screwed this up pretty bad.

Could be US DOT and not Porsche to blame here.

Porsche should have stayed on top of the regulations like Corvette did. This is Porsche's screw up

I don't believe Corvette has approval for sport bucket seats. MY understanding they are waiting like Porsche.

what they should do is let you order it with the car at the option price then deliver the seats when available to US. They have to jump through the USA hurtles and no reason to wait the launch a year. Ask the dealer if something can be worked out??

Believe that is correct. Have friend that has a new vette on order - seats are not available.
