3D configurator seems pretty accurate on the stitching. From memory, I think it's just the headrest.

To make things clearer, I was referring to the seat being used in limited production and not the car. Second, the regular production 918 will have the correct two stage air bags making it so called legal. It's all silliness anyways since the single stage airbag is just as safe as a two stage.

The Sport buckets seats should have been available immediately from inception on the 991 GT3 for the USA market. Once again usa gets wait listed and no respect.
I'm not buying excuses like any DOT compliance red tape, better seats are 918 style and nor anything else
I bet you Porsche as contracted a ton of the new style 981, 991, panamera cayenne vented new quality seats and are using up the committed supply from recaro. It's business and marketing as is usual.

In addition , Porsche wants GT3s to be available with regular seats as they now Gung Ho USA enthusiasts will buy a car and later reorder another to get the good seats. I am also in this dilemma. It's bs. But it's reality so we can only bitch about it.

I remember trying to buy a real 964 RS and 993RS CS phone calls to VIPs everything and got nowhere built a RS clone

The good news s that we eventually got GT3 cars and RS and GT2RS cars. Yes we'll have to wait. I bet the same seats just get released mid 2014 with GT3RS to follow in fall 2014 with over 500hp

Joe I agree and I started a thread about this a while back. I don't buy Porsche's BS about DOT either. Corvette got it done along with Viper and a few others.

Ive lost my enthusiasm with Porsche lately. The Sport Bucket seats are very important to me. I will just keep my GTS that has these seats for a while but I am looking hard at the new Vette and their version of 6 point harness sport seats.

Chevy will warranty the car still if used for DE's. Porsche will not anymore and they just denied a friend of mine transmission warranty because the car has seen the track.

According to the September issue of Car & Driver, the Corvette sport seats "will be available by the end of the year." That's better than Porsche in 1Q 2014, but not by much.

So here's an interesting twist. I was at the dealer today, and they've been trying to get me to take their November build allocation because everyone seems to be passing on it (a GT3 up here in Canada would be useless between December-February).

So I told the dealership that if they could get the proper sports bucket seats with the passthroughs in the car I would take the allocation. The dealership sounded like it might be possible - i'll know in a few days....

I have a December build but don't have much hope of that happening but it would be nice..

I don't understand. Every 991 GT3 video except for the most recent "emotion" one shows the car on track and nowhere else.....

Fact. No 991 GT3 has ever been denied warranty for being on track; only 997 GT cars. It seems your concerns are being expressed in the wrong forum. Just sayin'......
