Another thing I liked about the standard seats in addition to the simplicity and lower weight, was you could slide the seat all the way back within a second with the manual adjuster. Laugh, but I like doing that to keep wear to a minimum on the left thigh bolster. You could always save the setting with A.S.S. but that's not a big deal to me. It'd take what felt like an hour for the power seat to go all the way back.
Yeah, the numbers I have are 97.2lbs for the standard sport plus seats and 128 lbs for the A.S.S. so a delta of about 30 pounds. Fortunately I always have the seats all the way back so the wait for the fore aft adjustment isn't an issue and the thigh extension and rake adjustments are big sellers for me. And changing your mind 5 times an hour....that sounds about right.

I am opting not to get dev stitching b/c I want the buckets to match the interior when they become available.

In photos I tend to lean toward white, but in the metal I know guards is the right color for the 3.
Are you still doing ED or waiting to hear?

Get red deviated stitching... it is well worth it.

Very nice. Gives some needed "pop" to a black or dark gray car.

I finally went with red because I have a (great looking) 991S now and thought a change would be in order.

If you have any second thoughts about going with red over GT Silver, look at your bank account and be consoled by the additional $3140 that will be there.
Congrats to both of you on your great choices!

I also struggled with this tough decision and it is always hard to discuss colors because they are just a matter of personal taste, so obviously there is no wrong answer here. But if it was my decision and had to choose between Red or GT silver, I think the GT silver one is more a color for a daily drive than a red one. Which I think is more a 'weekend car color'. Hope this helps! ;-)

Personally I always had black on black cars. So at first I told the dealer that I wanted the new 991 GT3 in black. After seeing the videos and pictures of it in white I eventually went for white because I think the there are a lot of black elements on the car that 'disappear' if the car is black.

Anyway, I am looking forward to see more pictures of ALL the colors and enjoy the beauty of this car again and again!

wow, I have to agree.. it really really makes a difference. When I think about a red gt3, with red calipers and gray wheels... the red stitiching on interior with gray alcantara is a match made in heaven.

-lift kit/full leather with red stitching/black headlights and the stereo... $146k... oh well... my stocks are rocking at the moment... don't think I'll regret it when I buy or when I sell it.

July 2014 in Leipzig is a long way away...

Mike, is the weight you post for the delta between seats, total weight difference or for each seat? Do you know roughly how much lighter the carbon fiber bucket seat, as we currently know it from the 2011-2012 Spyder, might be?

John, the numbers above are for the weight of both seats combined. The number I have for a pair of the current airbag equipped CF sport bucket is 78 lbs., so that's 19 lbs. lighter than a pair of standard sport plus seats and 50 lbs. lighter than 2 adaptive sport seats.

Hard to find a color this car doesn't look good in, isn't it?! Thanks Peter, for the "dedication".

Best,

My god those wheels look good.. Ill still plasti dip them for protection but will enjoy peeling that stuff off occasionally and looking at them in that amazing grey color.

So, aside from red which is my 90% choice, I was wondering if there was a color which matched the wheel color closely.. Is it that slate grey?...

Agate Gray?

Not sure. From different angles, the Platinum finish reminds me of Sterling Grey Metallic from BMW--a hint of bronze underneath...
