Black Headlights?

Black Headlights?
I placed my order yesterday and thought that I was pretty confident in my option choices, including the Red exterior color. I did not order the Black Headlights with PDLS but, as I was leaving the dealership, I saw a red cab with the black lights and it looked great. With most any other color, I probably wouldn't spend $1345 for a relatively minor trim option (I'm not sure that the PDLS is of any particular value to me), but it almost seems like the red car needs the black lights.
I have a little time before the order locks and would appreciate any thoughts.
p.s. Although I may be frugal, I did spring for the red stitching and seat belts!

Does anyone have any substantial info on PDLS Plus? For a 3k+ option, there is scare detail on what it is, what it looks like day/night, etc. Everyone seems to believe it will add weight to the car, but do we know that for certain, and if so, how much?
The PDLS+ option appears to make the headlight surrounds darker on the 3D configurator (but not black?). I like the look.

IMHO, the black head lights will compliment your dark colored rims. It does make the car look a bit sportier but some folks like the non black for its classy high end look. As for the PDLS LED, the stock lights have been around for a very long time and have been proven and optimized. Porsche is behind in LED (not in technology but making them a standard as in some manufacturers). Because LED can be improved dramatically and can be swapped out anytime in the future. I went with Black out PDLS on my agate grey build and will probably upgrade in the future. I could be wrong.

Does anyone know if the 3D configurator is accurate regarding the PDLS option? When selected, the headlights look ever so slightly darker than stock...
Has anyone seen it on a 991?

I guess that is why they offer options, different tastes. I am getting a black car with black wheels and black headlights. I realize some may not care for this combination but I wanted a sinister look for this thing.

I think configurator doesn't show many selected options, including black headlights. I've seen quite a few different Porsches with them (and a Mini Cooper s :-). ) and I think they look fantastic.
My car will also be red (martini colors wrap to have fun with, as well as preserve the paint underneath) with black lights.. Then I'm going to apply yellow tint to them to complete that lemans look :-)

The PDLS headlights do have darker trim, the basic lights have silver trim and the PDLS lights have grey trim which looks superior IMO

new GT3 - Thanks for the info! Great--that was my hope. The black was a bit too dark, but the "gray" of the PDLS option looked nice...
CAlexio - Totally agree on the configurator not showing a lot of options...BUT the "3D" version is far superior to the "2D" version and actually does a decent job rendering, as far as online configurators go...

I am definitely going dark lights with black or white car choice as it looks great to me. Contrast or sinister both look good. LED headlights way overpriced so I will skip.
The "panda" term has already been way overused and is quite silly. Looks great with the rims. To each his own.
