Default 991 GT3 RS Deposit

I decided a long while back I would get the 991 GT3 RS. It was just where I would get one....

I live in the UAE and am likely here for a while. The choice was the UAE or the UK, as obviously I go back to my home land .

I decided to get the car from the UK and I have to say, the HQ dealership for Porsche UK based in Reading have been brilliant. I enquired about the car and asked if they are taking deposits etc. They explained at present they are not but they can send me a letter of expression of interest - they also keep a copy on file and as soon as details of the car become available I will be one of the first to find out and secure a build a slot, which at this point I will place a deposit (they advise between £10k - £20k).

The dealer rep just an absolute gentleman, polite and professional. Awesome. Very different to Porsche UAE.

The thought of having an RS in UAE and UK pretty surreal. Will be awesome to drive the RS in UK and Europe. Roll on late 2014/early 2015.

Here all it takes is a $2500 deposit, that's how I got one of the first 26 '10RS off the boat in the US.
Did the same thing for the 2015? RS.

If you place a 20k deposit would you be twice as likely to get the car vs placing a 10k deposit?

I called my dealer and asked if they needed more (Refundable!) money when I specced my car.
The sales guy said no, you're good.. He asked if I needed financing, so I emailed him my SS number and they financed me for 72 months or something like that for 4%.

Mind you I sent him $2500 in April '08 before ever driving a Porsche or have any idea if I could afford it, I got one ride in a '07RS and ordered it and bought a '07GT3 to carry me over and my car arrived Feb '10. They UPS-ed me an envelope with highlights where to sign and a return envelope. That was the first time I believed him there was really a car that I specced. Flew in, picked up the car LOL. They even traded in my car that I had sold to a buyer to save on the 6% sales tax and rolled in a bunch of work that they did to it like wrapping it, roll bar seat belts etc.

Reeves in Tampa Rocks. They have my next deposit LOL.
