Aluminum pedals option on GT3
Hi all,
Got my build completed, but am undecided on the aluminum pedals. I've enclosed a picture. I'd buy them on looks alone, but wonder if they would be slippery, or feel hard to the feet. Opinions welcomed. I have a November build. Thanks, Blue |
The stock pedals appear to have an aluminum trim with rubber centers. The aluminum pedals looked a little slippery to me (although the configurator is just a rendering - could be different in person). I passed on that option.

They have a somewhat rough textured finish which will help. I had aluminum pedals that I retrofitted to my 996. Those had rubber buttons on them but even so when heel/toeing if I didn't have quite enough of the brake pedal when I rolled my foot over to get the throttle, my shoe could slip if it was damp. Of course, that won't be a problem with PDK. :icon107:
I saw the pedals in a car on the showroom floor when ordering my GT3 today. They look ok but I wasn't interested. Totally subjective, of course. |

The aftermarket guys like SPR will have some lovely pedal available by the time the 991 GT3 is delivered. I would wait and go for one of their options. They will be far cheaper too and equal if not better quality. I have their pedals in the 993 and just love them. They are very grippy and never slip...

Anyone have real world experience w/ the aluminum pedals? I know I have seen some anecdotes and speculation here and there, but no one with the aluminum pedals saying outright that they are great or terrible. I love the way they look, but I don't want to hate the way they feel / function. Thoughts / input appreciated!

@MAKHNO (from Denmark) has them on his also. He told me they were firm with no slippage--from the images, I was also concerned about the surface. He said the grip was actually good, pedals were very solidly built and have a texture to them. If you do a search, I believe he posted some pics.

^^FYI--said thread is "Agate Grey."

+1 for SPR.

The SPR pedals look killer! Do want.

Figured I'd go to the dealer and finally visit my car now that I'm back...took a picture of the pedals for ya. They definitely have a bit of texture to them. And unless you guys plan on driving it through a monsoon or snow storm...you shouldnt have any problems with slipping...

Nice man. I added these as a dealer installed part. Should be swapped out with stock once the car arrives at the dealer.

Comes with matching dead pedal too, right?
|
Honestly...I didn't even look hahaha.
