Yes Darios favourite car to drive is his longhood with 993 engine. The 991 GT3 will be a stark contrast. Which ever way you look at it its a vote of confidence after (the 599) he said he'd never buy another "site unseen" until the 991 GT3. I suspect the faith he talks about in Porsche is probably no unfounded - Id imagine hes well enough connected to have spoken to PAG and AP and other test drivers to know what hes getting into.

As per the discussion with the engineer I don't actually have any more than that. I think he simply became convinced that any of his earlier fears were unfounded..

The reason for the lack of expected comments is that there is no glowing review about the car, the guy merely says he's buying one! I'm happy for him but so what... I'm sure Seinfeld, Dempsey and Leno will probably buy one two but they didn't feel the need to announce it...

I think when a hard core high profile racer and car guy says hes ordering a 991 GT3 its probably of interest to the wider potential GT3 community than when say a high profile collector/enthusiast says they will order one. Really there is nothing more too it. But it sure breaks the boredom...
