Stingy GT-3 allocations...Grabbed one
My Omaha dealer, despite good qualifying 911 sales, only received two GT-3
allocations. One for a build in December 2013, and the second for a build
a full year later in December 2014. His first allocation was already spoken for. The second person in line dropped out due to the delay. I decided to take the
December 2014 build as I want a paint to sample car which isn't available as an option right away anyhow. Also any initial manufacturing problems should be worked out by then, if any, and hopefully CF bucket seats will become an option by then.

John if that you say is true then 991 GT3 will be very limited. Only one GT3 this year and another by the end of next year thats outrageous.
My dealership in houston has nothing to say up until now and I am loosing my patience here. My problem is not as much as to waiting for one, my problem is not having a date......come on PORSCHE get on with the program and say something anything. Who do they think they are APPLE.......LOL.

Three Wheelin'
Fremont Porsche has 5 allocations till the end of next year. I recently got a 997.2 GT3, so I am getting my deposit back. I think I was 2nd or may be 3rd there. I am not sure if anyone was behind me, but they might bump them, but if any one is looking you might want to call them and try.

That's probably a better ratio than Los Angeles per capita, though L.A. has far fewer sheep, but they make up for the population of "mindless and easily fleeced and herded to their own slaughter" in terms of sheeple ... :|

My salesman has guaranteed me that I am getting the first allocation they receive, and has confirmed with PCNA that it is coming but it's apparently not up in the Porsche computer ordering system yet so I can't actually spec an official order. His zone rep has told him it will be active by Thursday. We shall see.
Seemingly, different dealers are handling this process in different ways which may be why some folks have heard and others haven't.

My salesman has been in touch with me several times in the last 3 days and has reassured me repeatedly that the allocation will be up in the system soon, that it belongs to me, and not to worry. He's never done me wrong in the past and I trust him so I'm just being patient (more or less).
Have you actually sat down with your salesman, spec'd a car, placed a full $5K order deposit (not a nominal wait list deposit), had him input into the ordering system, and filled out all the order paperwork with pricing?

Yes, with each of my Ferrari's. With Porsche, the only time I did not when I was first on the list for the first TT Cab Porsche started to build in 2000 or 2001 I don't recall. They called and told me to spec the car prices to follow.
My only concern for you is when the demand for the car appears strong, some dealers want the early cars to sell above MSRP.

I appreciate your concern, but price is one thing I'm not worried about. It's my dealer's policy not to do mark-ups regardless, and I have it in writing on my initial deposit agreement that the car will be sold to me at MSRP.
