Default Sports Bucket Seats on Configurator momentarily

I clicked on the configurator this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see that the sports bucket seats were available. A few minutes after opening the configurator I opened a different one on the GT3 and they weren't there. They may just be waiting to get them approved by the USDOT before posting them on the site full time? What do you guys think..

I would think glitch, not sure they would even be up if they were still trying to get approval. Those seats do like mighty fine

Interestingly enough they appear for the '13 Turbo & Turbo S but not for the '14......

Would be great if they offered them right away for the early adopters.

Could it be Porsche is "about to" get the seats available for the US and that is why the delay in allocations and order taking? Someone advised me not to give an opinion here. This is a not one but merely a question.

How many people here would order them? I'm getting my order together now, and would have to think about it, as I love the adaptive sport seats.

I've never sat in them, are they comfortable?

I would order them in a heartbeat. Have the previous sport buckets in my Cayman R and love em. For me they are comfy and outstanding for DE events.

Geoff, did you see a price while they were momentarily on the site?

If you track a lot, more than DD or weekend runs, you absolutely need them. While the "***" seats are comfortable they won't hold you in your seat no matter how "tight" you adjust them in T9 at Laguna. You're gonna hold on to dear life on THE steering wheel just to stay "seated" Need a harness for that! Cars and Coffee? *** seats are fine. Horst.
PS: Ask me how I know...I have the *** and WISH that I had.... will not buy another car without good (Recaro or otherwise) seats AND belt pass-through openings... If I can get that in a $25K Mustang why not in a Porsche? Sorry, I digress, that rant belongs in the "seat thread"

Harness-ready deep buckets are a necessity for me. Please don’t make me go aftermarket.

Can't imagine owning a GT3 without them

Get the no cost standard seats and add the OEM buckets when they become available next year. Problem solved. Life is too short to keep stressing about how Porsche hasn't made the perfect seats available right away (which was the case for the 997.1 GT3 too, BTW) in your $150K+ car/toy.

I'm considering delaying my pre-order till they come out. I want to run a harness in my GT3 and really don't want to have to go aftermarket.
