With a good driver, if we are to believe Porsche, the 991 GT3 should be able to do 2:20 or better depending on tires, but it is going to be at least another year before we will get some real world data on Sebring laptime I guess

Indeed PETA has called for a moratorium on all antipodean necrophilial bestiality pursuant to the case law precedent "Dead Dingo's Fetid Kidneys v. Bruce the Unconscionable" finding in favor of the rights of the fetid kidneys. Bruce was instructed to also release his so-called "Harem of Kangaroos."

The fact you are so familiar with the case law....leads one to ponder....are you representing...or represented....?

If we don't do European delivery on my old mans car he will have it at the 48hrs next year with some R6's. I'll be driving the blue car of course but can sneak out for a session in the 991 for some hail mary lap time data. I think it will be quick in a video game sort of way but the rear steering makes me curious/nervous in a long fast sweeper (between 14 & 15?). Probably no more nervous than my car but we'll see!

Well Eddie laps Sebring at 2:15-2:18 in his GT3RS on Pirelli slicks. Trackcar and Izzone were 2:20-22 on street r-comps. Not psotitive what Clark is lapping Sebring at but it's right with those guys for sure. 991GT3 on same quality tire should be 2:20 easy and better in stock form. Maybe with a proper dial in alignment 2:15 at Sebring.....which is INSANE with out proper seats harness and Hans.

It will be interesting to see what mods eventually are done to the 991 GT3 and when those will be available.

Awesome! can you do do the proper seats for a harness if you do Euro delivery? I doubt it but just wondering. I'll see you and that blue monster at 48hrs for sure and have my point by ready!

Yes sub 2:20's without 6 point harness will be INSANE, maybe we can superglue ourselves to the seat LOL

Didn't Peter do a 2:17 on RA1 NT-01 and Eddie a 2:14 on slicks?

haha thanks! His dealer in Naples is pretty clueless on everything regarding the GT3, euro deliver, options, PTS, etc. Seats are a no go which is the stupidest thing as many of you have pointed out. We were planning on getting them since he would be much safer with proper harnesses and a Hans. Now he gets to do Sebring at speed with three point belts! Doesn't give me a warm feeling and we'll probably end up getting proper seats for him quickly after.

Hell we should just buy a set of seats and check them in as luggage for the flight home if we do euro delivery!

I suspect RWS will make the car more stable/confidence inspiring....until it malfunctions. Then it'll get interesting PDQ....

Default Checked Luggage?

If the seat wiring for the US spec 991 gt3 will not 'work' with the current 991/981 Euro/ROW gt2 type sport bucket seat (airbag/folding), why buy them to bring over on your flight home? The seat's airbags will not be 'operable' and the passenger seat sensors will not register on your US spec 991gt3! Fault codes will light up on your instrument panel like a Christmas Tree! Why spend the money for safety stuff that will NOT work with your US 991?

For the track, just use a dedicated racing seat from Recaro (or other maker) & call it a day! It is a cheaper & better solution than the expensive 991/981 Euro gt2 types seats that will NOT work properly on your US spec 991 gt3 in any case! And it is Hans ready & usable with proper 6 point racing harnesses!

Saludos,
Eduardo

thats the seat i put in all my p cars.

PS. why are some ppl so concerned with lap time of particular tracks. i usually use "boner" meter. if it points high, i buy. if it's limp. i pass. i am out of viagra at the moment, so i buy nothing.

Haha the smiley face meant it was a joke. You guys sure do take these seats seriously my my so worked up

I have that recaro Hans seat in my 993. What's your opinion on checking that will the airbags work?

Edit: Ok Eduardo to answer your question yes the seats do fit in my tumi roller bag. *Phew*

Also my super secret insider at Porsche HQ sent me pictures of the electrical connectors for the Euro and USA seat harnesses. Its a good thing you warned me!!

Euro

USA

This is such a pickle!! If only there was a way to connect the two?!
