Seriously though, I don't understand these "car setting" gimmicks; more responsive throttle, more responsive steering... What is that all about? I spent a lot of time learning the car, getting the feel for the steering, adjusting my foot to the throttle... why would one want to mess with that? Utter faggotry.

Another excellent vid from the monkey. Unlike current sport cars, he is just getting better and better.

As an owner of every clio RS to date (and a huge fan), I will refrain from commenting on the new car until I get a chance to drive it later this year.

Now did he say that I can pick a Nissan GTR exhaust soundtrack from the speakers ? Hmmm.. : )

I would go for the Juke R soundtrack, given the similar shape/ size...

Interesting and yes a possible preview of his review of the 991 GT3.

I think though based on a few comments on that video he'll say the manual is much more fun to drive and is more involving although slower on the track.

I don't think he'll be selling his RS 4.0 anytime soon.

With the RS coming with a PDK, don't count on a manual coming. . . or coming anytime soon.

I'm number 2 as well with my dealer. The only thing that gives me pause is the gearbox. So, my approach is to do a light option GT3 in an appealing color and sell it if I don't like it.

I thought that would be my strategy until yesterday when I heard PCNA say they expect 10% of 911s in this country to be GT3s. 800 or so GT3s per year is, I think, a big jump over prior years and will likely depress resale values. So I wouldn't assume I can get out of the car without getting killed if I don't like it.

In 2007 they sold almost 800 GT3s and close to 400 RS. The following years the production slowed down because of the econ crisis and low demand for anything that costs money. In 2009 when gen 2 was introduced, they sold 360 in 5.5 months and then slowed down in 2010. So if they are talking about 800 for the 2014 model year, it's consistent with prior new model introductions. Now if they keep pumping them at the same rate for 3-4 more years, it will increase depreciation. But I am sure with the broader appeal of this new model (PDK, looks, good value compared to C2S) etc., the market can swallow a lot without being overflown. Now there are more than 15 deposits at a major Toronto dealer, and they have not started getting allocations yet - seems like their "bigger bandwidth" idea is working.

I bought a 997 GT3.1. Sold it a few months after I purchased it; didn't lose much. Since I'm early in the queue for the 991 GT3.1, I'll probably figure out if it's a keeper in 3 months. Sell it for a 5k loss if so. *shrug*

I think the risk lies in keeping it too long. Once the new car smell goes, so does your new-ish car resale.

I'm a cash buyer, so it's a bit easier since I'm not paying a massive payment that is mostly interest up front, and losing out on depreciation.
