Video: Limits pushed. The new 991 GT3

And I would like like the head of The Great Porsche Marketing Machine to come on here and explain why they create this kind of thing when the corporate side (and owners manual) goes to great pains to state that use on track voids the warranty? And to fully disclose the costs of the consumables (if one chooses to void the warranty) and track their 2013 GT3 street car. And to discuss the suitability of the cars parts for track use.
A lot of us are sick and tired of the disconnect between your marketing and reality. You can't have it both ways Porsche, find some honesty and integrity. Is it a track car Porsche? Or is it not?

I would imagine all the old-school Porsche customers are fairy high-maintanance and demanding. Profit margins on GT3/2 cars must be pretty non-existent when factoring all the variables. PAG is clearly moving onto another business model - mass produced sport-luxury vehicles. The never-to-be-tracked yet somehow track-ready GT3 is the new "emotional" car for the more humble Cayenne Turbo customer, not the troublesome and informed track junkie. Hence this playstation-game commercial.

Not to interfere with Porsche-bashing (I do agree that voiding warrantee for track use is ridiculous), but does anyone know what kind of helmet this guy is wearing? Looks like optimal format for closed-cockpit cars IMHO.

Porsche has a long relationship with Stand21 and the helmet looks like one of theirs. Gloves are Stand21

Its the Porsche Motorsports Collection Stand21 IVOS Open Face Double Duty Helmet. At least here in Canada, open faced helmets in closed cars are being phased out since they don't provide lower jaw protection. A lot of clubs, and race series won't allow them anymore.
