Back to the topic...
On the timing of the RS, this is what I got from my dealer this morning:
"Have checked re the RS and the timescale is 12 months after the GT3 so we will not see or hear anything until well into next year unfortunately. We cannot take monetary deposits until the press release, so let’s keep in touch re this one next year."
This was their response to my question whether I could leave a part of my current deposit (10% of the GT3, following my factory order mid March) for the GT3 RS...

I'm confused. I can't think of any good reason for that gaping duct on the side. It's too big for an air intake for the motor, besides which you can clearly see the same ram-air intake below the spoiler to feed the engine. Way too big/ draggy to be a brake or trans cooler duct, and no radiators back there. But it's too well crafted on the second car to be a fake. You can also see they re-worked the bumper area below the tail-light on the second shot, closing the exhaust vent for that duct. In fact the whole rear bumper looks a little off at some angles.
The only thing I can think of that needs an intake that size in that location is an intercooler.
