Whining?

Does it sound to anyone else like there is a lot of whining going on for what really looks to be a bad a** car?

StirlingMoss 03-08-2013 05:43 PM

Agreed. Both with the whining and the bad a** car.

DrJay 03-08-2013 05:49 PM

Especially considering not one of us has driven it yet...

Mike in CA 03-08-2013 05:51 PM

Whining hardly describes it. Not all, but many of the constantly repeated negative comments and assumptions based on zero first hand experience with the car are little more than trolling.

500 03-08-2013 05:52 PM

Oh yeah! But this is standard operating practice everytime Porsche does something new.

Opinions are fine, but the relentless negativity directed towards a car we haven't even driven yet is palapable here and very repetitive.

I do think this car has a lot of promise and I am glad that Porsche is imaginative and trying to move forward. There is a great market for wonderful used Porsches that fulfill any desire for less sophistication and a more traditional experience.

LOL...there are a wide variety of opinions about this new car represented here. Sorry not all of them fall into the kool-aid fan boi column.

911SLOW 03-08-2013 05:56 PM

Whining? yes; and aside from the usual forum hyperboles, it is quite normal I would say considering that this is the first GT3 that doesn't look too GT3ish neither in specs, nor in philosophy (well..yet).

Worthy of a separate thread to discuss it? not so sure; but I did my best nevertheless.. ;)

Well VR, I'm not a "fan boi", so I will ignore that.

I respect you opinion, but don't you agree that you really need to drive the car to know?

And represented, and represented, and represented, and represented....... Fan boi and drinking the kool aid. How original; you just made my point. Thanks! :)

For some things, yes. For others, no, the spec sheet is quite sufficient IMO.

As I said before in some thread : '' Vote with your wallet! ''
Does whining mean :
1) No buy
2) Maybe
3) I'll whine and wait
4) I'll whine and buy anyway
:)

Not to mention that in the US the dealers don't let you test drive. Right? :D

LOL not a whine, simply a fact ;)

ny991 03-08-2013 07:07 PM

They don't let you test drive because they know it won't matter. Either you want it or you don't. If you don't, there's a line behind you. GT3's don't sit on the lot very long.

96redLT4 03-08-2013 07:09 PM

I sure would not call myself a 'fan boi' either. I was pretty negative on the 991s when it came out, and I love my 997s-almost too much to sell. I'm just thinking with the GT3-same weight as mine, 120 more hp, with a 9K RPM redline hmmm.
