Who is getting one.? First official poll

First serious poll after the official announcement.

Who is getting / not getting one and why?

Who is getting a 991 GT3?
I have a 996 GT3 and will buy one because my car is old and rattles.
I have a 997 GT3 and will get one because it will be faster and I want to win my local DE race
I have a 4.0. Leave me alone!
I never had a GT3 but will order one now because it's the first one that I can actually drive without crashing outside my house
I won't be getting one, will wait for the 991 RS
I will buy one because this is a helluva car.
I won't buy one. I like everything but the PDK
I won't get one. I loathe its gismos. Don't know if I can kill them
What GT3? This is a just a Carrera on steroids.
I will wait to see if these CLs fly and what's the maintenance schedule before ordering
open to suggestions for other options

Put my deposit down last summer. Now psyched more than ever. Will sell the 991S for this.

Can you put in a category for: will wait to see what the CL maintenance schedule is?

911SLOW 03-04-2013 07:10 PM

Of course I can. Mea culpa omitting the CLs' angle.

I've had a deposit down since March 2012. Been waiting for info, and have heard nothing to change my mind. In fact most of the details, including price, are better than I expected and contrary to the doom and gloom predictions. Drove manuals for 4 decades, but the last 4 years with a first generation PDK in my '09 CS have convinced me it's nothing to fear; quite the opposite. The new PDK will be even better, the car itself will be amazing and fun as hell, and I don't even drink lattes and have never been to a Cars and Coffee. ;)

I'm in.

as ap said, everything has been reprogrammed to more 'sporty' settings, but is this sporty enough?
funny how he guaranteed bovo will love it.
where is monkee? i thought he was ap's go-to man?

I'm fine. Bob Rouleau did the hard stuff. I'm just having a great time here. :D

We got the same schedule, but doing nothing productive is winning at the moment for me.

jenk12m 03-04-2013 08:12 PM

put my vote in, will wait for the RS

Mike in CA 03-04-2013 08:29 PM

If people are expecting that Porsche will take a step back with regard to things like PDK, RWS, PTV etc. on the RS I think they may be in for a disappointment. Modest increases in HP, decreased weight, adjustments in aero and suspension, sure. But Porsche have shown their hand with regard to the direction they want to go. For good or ill, it's hard for me to imagine that they would install bits on the RS that would slow it relative to the 3.

I'm stuck in my GTS for awhile and the economy isn't helping matters. Sales for me are rather dull right now.
