I've enjoyed the entertainment of that "other GT3" thread (lots of laughing actually), and in the back of my head I was always thinking, "wait until Mr. Preuninger gives his answer".
The man has the passion, how could you have ever been in doubt about this car???

- 'under rated' 475hp
- rocker arms (wow) to get to 9000rpms
- 4.0 NRing time
- PDCC never considered as not necessary because car's suspension much stiffer
- car faster with rear steering + feels better
- pdk massively redone - to drive like a sequential - has clutch kick - can pull both levers to get rear end to step out
- no overdrive gear
- 90 liter gas tank (this is good)
- every gear change = 1/2 a car faster

Had no real interest in new GT3 before. Now I may have to consider. Great/interesting video

How come the interviewer didn't bring up the center locks. Makes the car a non starter for me, I simply won't buy a car with them again.

So the reason why they went with the dfi engine instead of the mezger was because there is not enough space to build it? Or cost? Its disappointing to see that it was an economic decision, thanks VW for that. You do not see or hear the same enthusiasm in Mr. Preuninger's voice here as when he introduced the 4.0. He is excited about the other stuff and how it still feels like the old GT3, but not when he was talking about the engine. There connection to the old motorsports engine was a true link to Porsche's DNA and they have done away with it. You couldn't put a price on that. What a shame!

AP has the passion for GT cars! Thought he struggled a little with question about why is is the 991 RSR still using the Mezger engine and not the new engine. Can't wait to hear the new engine note in person - and compare to the 997 GT3 engine note.

Surprised that the 991 GT3 weighs more than the 991 C2S!

What is the reason for the PCCB rotors going to 410mm? Maybe to give a definitive bang for the extra bucks you pay? On the 997 there was little to no difference in stopping power with the steel rotors.

He also said there are new calipers. Couldn't tell if he meant just PCCB or both.

With the extra 15mm of radius on the PCCB rotors, there will be zero use with 18" wheels and could be questionable to use some 19".

Great video. I sold... well I was before.

Active steer and PDK are the future and I especially like the fact is been set up/programmed to act like a true sequencial.

On the positive side: 9k RPM, 475 bhp, "no need" for PDCC, steel brakes still standard.

BTW, Andreas challenges anyone to drive it to compare the steering feel. He guarantees that it's exactly the same. We shall see.
